Nibelungen - Festival Worms 2026

For the Nibelungen Festival 2026, the author Oliver Lansley, who will also direct together with James Seager, is writing the play “THE HUNNENKÖNIGIN”. At its center is the Burgundian princess Kriemhild, who switches to the camp of the Huns after the death of Siegfried, becoming the most powerful woman on the continent.

“THE HUNNENKÖNIGIN” is a drama, a spectacle with music, and a theatrical rollercoaster ride, during which a character shows how far she is willing to go to restore justice. Even if it means setting the world on fire.

The play and production are created in close cooperation with the London theater company LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES. Their works are a mix of great actor theater, music, audience-attractive circus elements, magic, and puppetry. They tour as shows not only through England but from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival all across Europe to Shanghai.

LES ENFANTS TERRIBLES tell the story of Kriemhild as a political intrigue, but also as painful betrayal, as an unusual love, and as a grand tale of revenge. A revenge that not only turns the circumstances in Burgundy and the land of the Huns upside down but also exposes dirty deals, being as imaginative as it is deadly.
