Steinfurther Rose Festival

The district of Steinfurth in Bad Nauheim is inseparably connected with the queen of flowers: For 150 years, this thorny beauty has been cultivated here and shipped all over the world. The noble flower is honored every two years with the Steinfurth Rose Festival.

What began in 1912 with the first local exhibition of cut roses has now become a regionally recognized highlight of events: For four days, villagers and thousands of visitors succumb to the richness of colors and shapes, and the enchanting scents of the most beautiful of all flowers. Hundreds of varieties of the noble beauty are showcased in the rose exhibition, while the rose market in the picturesque town center of Steinfurth, nestled between half-timbered houses and romantic courtyards, invites shoppers: Surrounded by the fragrance of the show gardens, garden enthusiasts can find everything related to roses at numerous sales stands, from plants and accessories to art and literature, as well as fragrances or ingredients for the kitchen. Expert lectures by rose specialists, the rose doctor, and not least the rose museum enrich the festival program with art and cultural historical aspects, while the rose café invites visitors to linger with culinary specialties centered around the queen of flowers. However, the unparalleled highlight of the Steinfurth Rose Festival is the rose parade on Sunday: Amidst the cheers of the spectators, accompanied by music and traditional costume groups, the lavishly decorated floats adorned with thousands of rose blossoms parade through the village.
