Stroll through the garden of the unique Parque Terra Nostra and end the day with a soothing bath in the thermal pool. A tour of the east coast is, of course, a must! Day 1 | Flight to Ponta Delgada/São Miguel

Flight from Frankfurt/Main to Ponta Delgada and transfer to the hotel in Ponta Delgada. Check-in and dinner.

Day 2 | Ponta Delgada

After breakfast, you will meet your tour guide at the hotel and explore Ponta Delgada on foot. The capital of the largest Azorean island, São Miguel, captivates with a charm that arises from the interplay of tradition and modernity. Ponta Delgada was founded as a small fishing village but quickly grew to become the capital of the island. The afternoon is entirely yours!

Day 3 | Natural Phenomenon Sete Cidades

Today's excursion takes you to the west of the island. There, you will encounter the mysterious landscape of the “Seven Cities,” shaped by the over 1,000 m high volcano of Sete Cidades, along with two crater lakes, Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul. The tranquil lakes with steeply sloping banks create a fascinating landscape. From Visto do Rei, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Caldeira. We invite you to a lunch to recharge. On the way back to Ponta Delgada, you will stop at a pineapple plantation.

Day 4 | Lagoa do Fogo “Fire Lake”

Today, you will start with a visit to a traditional pottery factory near Lagoa. Then, you will begin the ascent to Mount Barrosa from the south coast. The Fire Lake Lagoa do Fogo is somewhat secluded at about 600 m altitude in the mountains of São Miguel. It is perhaps the most beautiful of all crater lakes in the Azores. Afterwards, you will take the bus to the beautiful waterfall Caldeira Velha, surrounded by magnificent tree ferns, and visit the town of Ribeira Grande. Return to the hotel.

Day 5 | Lagoa das Furnas

You will travel to the spa town of Furnas, known for its geysers that remind of the volcanic origin of the island. At the lake's shore, you can see locals using the ground's heat to cook traditional stews “Cozido” made of meat, sausage, and vegetables. For lunch, you will taste the famous and delicious “Cozido das Furnas.” Afterwards, you will stroll through the Terra Nostra Park with its exotic flower gardens, centuries-old trees, and a huge pool fed by hot springs (swimming opportunity). To conclude the day, you will visit one of the last European tea plantations.

Day 6 | The East Coast of the Island

A tour of the east coast is a must! Your first stop is the viewpoint of Salto do Cavalo. From here, you have a breathtaking view of the crater lake in Furnas as well as the south coast. Along the coast, you will drive into the wild nature to the viewpoint Ponta da Madrugada, beautifully located in a park-like area with countless flower beds. The journey continues to the center of the southeast – to Povoacao. This is where the first settlers landed on São Miguel in 1427. Return to the hotel.

Day 7 | Free Day – Optional Whale and Dolphin Watching Tour

This day is entirely yours. Those who wish can participate in a whale and dolphin watching tour (optional). Experience the unforgettable adventure and discover some of the most impressive species on Earth (highly weather-dependent, no guarantee of sighting dolphins and/or whales).

Day 8 | Return Flight

In the early morning, you will begin your return flight.
