Day 1 | Flight to Cairo
Upon arrival in Cairo, transfer to the hotel and check into your room.
Day 2 | Pyramids Complex – Grand Egyptian Museum
Today you will visit the world-famous Pyramids of Giza. On-site, you will explore the impressive structures of the Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos pyramids, as well as the famous Sphinx, one of Egypt's most recognized landmarks. Afterwards, you will continue to the Grand Egyptian Museum, one of the most modern and largest archaeological museums in the world. Here, you will find a fascinating collection of ancient Egyptian art treasures, including numerous exhibits from the tomb of Tutankhamun. In the afternoon, there will be time for further exploration in the museum before returning to the hotel.
Day 3 | Cairo – Optional: Mosques, Churches, and Oriental Bazaar
After breakfast, you can experience an excursion through the historic districts of Cairo. First, you will visit the Jewish Quarter and tour a synagogue. Then, continue to the Islamic Quarter with impressive buildings, such as the Sultan Hassan Mosque and the Ar-Rifa'i Mosque. After that, explore the Coptic Quarter with a visit to the famous Hanging Church and the Abu Serga Church. To conclude, in the afternoon, visit the lively Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, where you will have time to stroll and shop.
Day 4 | In the Footsteps of the Pharaohs
Experience the fascinating past of Egypt. First, drive to Memphis, the former capital of the Old Kingdom, where you will see significant remains and impressive statues from the time of the Pharaohs. Then continue to Saqqara, one of the oldest and most important necropolises in Egypt. Here, you will find the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser, which is considered the first monumental stone pyramid in the world. Later in the day, visit Dahshur, an extensive field of pyramids and tombs from the Old and Middle Kingdom, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Red Pyramid and the unique Bent Pyramid, which represents an important development step in pyramid construction.
Day 5 | Historic Cairo: Citadel and
Mummy Museum
Today, you will first learn about the impressive Citadel of Saladin, one of the few preserved historical fortifications in Cairo. From here, enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the city. Within the complex, you will visit significant buildings, including the magnificent Mohammed Ali Mosque. Afterwards, continue to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. A special highlight is the famous Mummy Museum, where the royal mummies of significant Pharaohs are displayed, providing a fascinating insight into ancient Egyptian burial culture.
Day 6 | Return Flight
Transfer to the airport in Cairo and return flight to Frankfurt/Main.
