Travel Features
Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival
Departure in the morning and drive to Vienna. Arrival in the late afternoon in one of the most livable cities in the world. Room allocation and dinner at the hotel.
Day 2 | Vienna – City Tour
As one day is hardly enough to get to know the waltz metropolis, it is best to let a tour guide introduce you to the city. Vienna has an intact historical cityscape like hardly any other major city, characterized by magnificent buildings from the Baroque and Gründerzeit periods. During the city tour, you will see, among other things, the famous Ringstrasse with the Opera, Burgtheater, and Parliament, the Belvedere Palace, and the landmark of the Viennese, St. Stephen's Cathedral (exterior visits). Of course, a visit to Schönbrunn Palace is also a must. You can expect majestic splendor, a natural experience, and an incomparable view over Vienna. The former summer residence of the Habsburgs still has a charm that enchants every visitor immediately. Afterwards, you have free time for strolling and shopping. In the late afternoon, you will head to the famous Prater. On the ride on the Ferris wheel, you will experience Vienna from a 'bird's eye view'. You will end the day at a typical Viennese heuriger.
Day 3 | Waltz Concert
This day begins directly with a highlight: a guided visit to the impressive Kunsthistorisches Museum and the reopened Kunstkammer, featuring unique collections of the imperial family. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. You will have dinner today in a traditional Viennese restaurant. Afterwards, another highlight of the trip: you will attend a waltz concert featuring works by Johann Strauss in a festive setting.
Day 4 | Burgenland and Lake Neusiedl
Burgenland already gives the impression of the neighboring country Hungary: the romantic steppe landscape at Lake Neusiedl, the fantastic cuisine, where Austrian and Hungarian influences blend, and the castles and palaces that have given this part of Austria its name. Just a short drive from Vienna, Burgenland offers all possibilities for a varied day trip. The journey first takes you to Eisenstadt, also known as Haydn City. Joseph Haydn lived for 30 years as a kapellmeister and house officer at the court of the Esterházys and composed a large part of his works here. You will have the opportunity for an individual stroll through the listed old town. Afterwards, continue to the wine village of Rust with its wine cellars. In a cozy atmosphere, you can taste the fine wines of Burgenland. In good spirits, you will take a boat trip on Lake Neusiedl in the afternoon. Admire the beauties of the area from the lake. After docking, horse-drawn carriages are already waiting for you for a beautiful ride through the Seewinkel National Park. Afterwards, return to the hotel and individual evening arrangements.
Day 5 | Return Journey
After breakfast, you will begin your return journey with many beautiful impressions in your travel luggage.
