Wachau, Everything Apricot!

Danube, Apricot Festival & Vienna

The Wachau is one of the most popular regions in Austria, stretching from Melk to Krems along the Danube and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. It is known for its steep vineyards with Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, the apricot orchards, impressive monasteries such as the Benedictine Abbey of Melk, and the picturesque river landscape of the Danube. The market town of Emmersdorf on the Danube is idyllically nestled directly opposite Melk, making it the ideal starting point for explorations in the Wachau, and the capital Vienna is only 90 km away.
