Day 1 | Maastricht – Hasselt
Departure in the morning and drive to Maastricht. Maastricht is one of the most beautiful and oldest cities in the Netherlands. Historical buildings, romantic alleys, and lively squares give the city a distinctive flair. During a guided tour, you will discover the historic old town. Afterwards, there will be plenty of time for your own explorations. Cozy street cafés, small boutiques, and elegant shops invite you to stroll and linger around the Vrijthof. In the afternoon, continue to Hasselt and check into the hotel. Individual evening arrangements. Enjoy the atmosphere at the Zuivelmarkt.
Day 2 | Hasselt – Concert Visit
After a leisurely breakfast, you will discover cozy spots, historical heritage such as the St. Quintinus Cathedral, and contemporary arts during a guided city tour of Hasselt. Afterwards, you will have free time. Small boutiques, inviting cafés, and regional specialties make a stroll through the city particularly varied. In the evening, the highlight of the trip: Around 9:00 PM, the open-air concert by André Rieu begins at the Vrijthof square in Maastricht – and you will be there live. Few other violinists can captivate such a wide audience and fill concert halls like the Dutchman. In addition to classical pieces, his repertoire also includes world-famous hits and pop songs (end of the performance: approx. 00:30 AM). After the concert, return to the hotel.
Day 3 | Abbey Val-Dieu – Return Journey
After a good night's sleep, there will be plenty of time for breakfast. Afterwards, you will leave Hasselt. In the midst of the idyllic landscape of the Herve region lies the historic Abbey Val-Dieu. The historic monastery complex with its impressive church, well-kept gardens, and ancient walls radiates a special tranquility. During a guided tour of the abbey and brewery, you will discover eight centuries of abbey history. Of course, a beer and cheese tasting is a must. In the afternoon, you will begin your journey home.
