Cultural trip through the Ruhr area

Day 1 | Arrival – Landesgartenschau Neuss

Departure in the morning and drive to Neuss, host of the Landesgartenschau 2026. Explore fascinating themed gardens and a variety of plants on relaxing walking paths. After an appropriate sightseeing stay, continue to Bochum. Check into the hotel and have dinner.

Day 2 | Bochum

Today you will discover the many sights of Bochum with a tour guide during a city tour. Learn exciting facts about the architecture of the 1950s as well as Bochum's churches and monuments. You can spend the rest of the day strolling through the beautiful city center.

Day 3 | Villa Hügel – Zollverein Coal Mine

Optional: Musical Visit

First, you will visit Villa Hügel: the family residence of the Krupp family and a symbol of Germany's industrialization. In the afternoon, visit the UNESCO World Heritage Zollverein. The path of coal at the mine will be shown to you during a guided tour. In the evening, you can experience spectacular roller skate action at the musical “Starlight Express” (starts at 6:30 PM, including round-trip transfer).

Day 4 | Open-Air Museum Hagen – Return Journey

After breakfast, visit the open-air museum in Hagen. Experience 200 years of craft and technology history from Westphalia and Lippe. Afterwards, you will begin your return journey with a short stop at Hengsteysee.
