Castle Illumination
The legendary castle illuminations captivate thousands of people every year.
At around 10:15 PM, Bengal lights slowly bathe Heidelberg Castle in a mysterious red glow. As the glowing castle gradually fades, the second part of the spectacle begins – the brilliant fireworks over the Neckar. Beforehand, immerse yourself in the history of Heidelberg during a 90-minute city tour. After the tour, you will have free time. The best view of the fireworks is from the Philosopher's Path, on the Nepomuk Terrace at the Old Bridge, or along the Ziegelhäuser Landstraße (near the Old Bridge). Return journey 1 hour after the fireworks end.
