Itinerary
Day 1 | Overnight Stay near Milan
Departure in the morning and drive to the area of Milan for an overnight stay. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 | Arrival in Castiglione della Pescia
After breakfast, continue your journey south. In the afternoon, you will reach the Maremma in southern Tuscany. You will be warmly welcomed at the hotel. Use the remaining time for your first impressions of your holiday destination.
Day 3 | Grosseto
Today you will discover Grosseto, the vibrant capital of the Maremma. On a guided tour, you will get to know the most beautiful sides of the city, including Piazza Dante and the Cathedral of San Lorenzo. Afterwards, there will be time for your own discoveries, a stroll through the alleys, or a cappuccino in one of the beautiful squares.
Day 4 | Pitigliano – Sovana and Sorano
In the morning, you will first discover Pitigliano, one of the most beautiful tuff stone towns in Tuscany. Perched high on a rock, the town impresses with its houses built closely against the cliff and an impressive backdrop. Next, you will head to Sovana, whose history dates back to the 7th century. Afterwards, you will visit Sorano, also located on a tuff stone cliff. Preserved cave dwellings and the rock-hewn Via delle Cave provide a fascinating glimpse into the past.
Day 5 | Island of Elba
Your excursion today takes you to the island of Elba, which, with its white sandy beaches, unspoiled nature parks, and crystal-clear bays, is a true paradise. Known for Napoleon Bonaparte, who was exiled here after his defeat, Elba is rich in history.
Day 6 | Montalcino and S. Antimo
Montalcino is world-famous for its Brunello wine. The town, located on a hill, delights with small cafés, artisan shops, and stores selling regional specialties. Afterwards, you will visit the Abbey of Sant’Antimo, a gem of Romanesque architecture and once one of the most significant monasteries of the Middle Ages. A wine tasting rounds off the excursion delightfully.
Day 7 | Massa Marittima and San Galgano
In the morning, you will visit Massa Marittima, which has one of the most beautiful medieval townscapes in Tuscany. Piazza Garibaldi forms the impressive heart of the old town. On the way back, you will see the remains of the Gothic Abbey of San Galgano, whose open walls still convey a special atmosphere today.
Day 8 | Free Time
Spend today as you wish. Take a walk along the promenade, enjoy the Mediterranean flair with a cappuccino, or spend relaxing hours at the beach and by the sea.
Day 9 | Overnight Stay
Today you will return to the area of Milan, where you will have an overnight stay.
Day 10 | Return Journey
With many beautiful memories of the Maremma and Tuscany, you will begin your journey home today.

4-Star Roccamare Resort in Castiglione della Pescaia
Just a few minutes from the center of Castiglione della Pescaia, the resort consists of three buildings and features a swimming pool, private beach with bar, two restaurants, American bar, elevator, reading room, minimarket, mini-golf, table tennis, as well as a football field and tennis court. The rooms are equipped with a bathtub or shower, toilet, hairdryer, TV, telephone, and Wi-Fi. The pools of the Roccamare Resort are an oasis of relaxation. Breakfast and dinner are served at the restaurant of Hotel Cala di Ponente, and the distance is between 50 to 350 meters.
