Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival
Departure in the morning and drive towards Schleswig-Holstein. Check-in and dinner at the hotel in Groß Wittensee.
Day 2 | Schleswig, the Cathedral and the Holm
Your excursion to the Schlei takes you first to Kappeln. Here, there is time to explore the maritime flair and the beautiful old town individually. Afterwards, you will drive through the Schlei villages across the Angeln landscape and past the filming locations of the ZDF series "Der Landarzt" to Schleswig. There, you will find the St. Petri Cathedral, one of the oldest sacred buildings in Schleswig-Holstein, as well as a walk through the old town to the "Schleswiger Holm", the original settlement area of the fishermen.
Day 3 | Husum – Nordstrand
Today you will travel to the "Storm City" of Husum and discover the beautiful old town, the Storm House, and the castle in front of Husum (exterior visits) while enjoying the maritime flair at the Husum harbor. In the afternoon, you will continue north, over the dam built in 1936, to the Nordstrand peninsula. Once you reach the west coast, you can take a walk along the dike in the fresh North Sea air and afterwards enjoy coffee in a café with a beautiful view of the North Sea.
Day 4 | Flensburg and Glücksburg
Through the picturesque landscape of the Hüttener Berge Nature Park, you will travel to the Danish border at Kruså and over Rinkenæs to the "Danish Riviera". From here, enjoy the view over the Flensburg Fjord to Glücksburg. Afterwards, you will reach Flensburg. Scandinavian flair, quaint alleys, the small idyllic harbor, and the surrounding beach oases will surely enchant you. In the afternoon, you will take a boat trip over the Flensburg Fjord to Glücksburg. The return trip to the hotel will pass by the water castle Glücksburg.
Day 5 | Kiel – Holstein Switzerland
Drive to the state capital Kiel. During a small city tour, you will get to know the most important sights of the harbor city. Afterwards, you will drive along the Kiel Fjord to Laboe. Continue over Plön into the heart of Holstein Switzerland. During a 5-lake boat trip, you will experience the diversity of the region from a completely different perspective. Upon arrival in Bad Malente-Gremsmühlen, you will continue by bus to Eutin, where there will be time for a small lunch break. The return trip to the hotel will take you along the beautiful and extensive estate of Gut Panker and the Selenter See.
Day 6 | North-East Sea Canal
You will drive through the Geest to the North-East Sea Canal and experience the most trafficked artificial waterway in the world on a road that runs directly along the canal. You will take a break under the railway viaduct in Rendsburg to admire this impressive structure. Afterwards, you will pass through the center of Rendsburg and the eastern hilly landscape back to Groß Wittensee. The remaining time until dinner is at your disposal.
Day 7 | Return Journey
With many beautiful impressions, you will begin your journey home.
