Travel Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival in Tuscany (approx. 1,014 km)
Departure in the morning and drive to the overnight stop in Tuscany.
Day 2 | Ferry Passage Livorno – Bastia (approx. 40 km, excluding ferry crossing)
After breakfast, you board the ferry in Livorno and reach Corsica in about 4 hours. The citadel of Bastia greets you from afar. In the afternoon, you arrive at the port of Bastia and continue by bus for dinner and overnight stay in Casamozza.
Day 3 | Ajaccio (approx. 160 km)
Along the coast, through the Désert des Agreates, you drive towards Corte. Pasquale Paoli invites you to stroll through the narrow streets of the Corsican university town. You continue until Ajaccio, which appears in a dreamlike bay before you. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4 | Calanche (approx. 160 km)
A highlight of Corsica: the red granite rocks north of Ajaccio! Just past Piana, you experience the play of shapes and colors. The drive takes you to the pretty harbor town of Porto. Here you have free time or the opportunity for a boat trip through the Scandola Nature Reserve (optional, approx. €38 per person, payable on site). It’s a winding route through the Spelunca Gorge, past Evisa, back to your hotel in Ajaccio.
Day 5 | Ajaccio – Free Time
During a city tour, you discover Ajaccio, the charming capital of Corsica. As the birthplace of Napoleon, Ajaccio invites you on an exciting journey through time. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6 | Ajaccio – Bonifacio – Ferry Passage –
Alghero (approx. 300 km)
Drive south, past Sartène to Bonifacio, a city that resembles a theater backdrop. From there, the ferry departs for Sardinia. After arriving at the port of Santa Teresa, continue to your hotel in Alghero.
Day 7 | Neptune's Grotto (approx. 30 km)
Walk through the winding streets of the old town of Alghero, where you will find the significant Church of Francesco. The medieval city walls, which stretch along a charming promenade, are also worth seeing. The highlight of the day is an excursion to Capo Caccia, where the Neptune's Grotto opens up, the most famous cave in Sardinia due to its majestic appearance and the beauty of the underground lake. You can conveniently reach the stalactite cave by boat (optional, for an additional fee of approx. €35 per person / weather dependent, payable on site).
Day 8 | Orgosolo (approx. 300 km)
Your journey today takes you through the contrasting interior to Orgosolo. In the center of Orgosolo, you will see painted “Murales” on house walls, large-format murals that originated here in the late 1960s. There we invite you to a typical Sardinian shepherd's picnic. Afterward, continue to the area of Cannigione/Arzachena. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 9 | Costa Smeralda – Olbia (approx. 100 km)
Drive to Porto Cervo, the meeting place of the rich and famous. Then continue along the stunning Emerald Coast. The approximately 55-kilometer-long Costa Smeralda is famous for its white bays, bizarre rock formations, and penchant for luxury. In the late afternoon, ferry crossing from Olbia to Livorno. Dinner and overnight stay on board the ferry.
Day 10 | Return Journey (approx. 1,021 km)
After disembarking in Livorno, you begin your journey home.
