Day 1 | Arrival in Angers (approx. 770 km)

Departure in the morning and drive towards Brittany. In the Loire Valley, you will make a stop and spend the night at the 4-star Hôtel Mercure Angers Centre Gare (local category) in Angers. Dinner at a restaurant near the hotel.

Day 2 | Angers – Guérande (approx. 174 km)

In the morning, visit the mighty castle of Angers from the 13th century. It is located on the Maine River, which flows into the Loire nearby, and presents itself from the outside as a massive fortress with its 17 towers and extensive defensive walls. You will see the Apocalypse Tapestries, the largest tapestry ever woven in Europe from the Middle Ages. Afterwards, you will visit a winemaker near Nantes and participate in a wine cellar tour including tasting. In the evening, you will reach Pornichet. Check-in at the 3-star Hôtel Escale Océania Pornichet-La Baule (local category) in Pornichet and dinner in a brasserie.

Day 3 | Salt Marsh by the Sea (approx. 60 km)

Nestled between the Atlantic and green salt meadows lies Guérande, a medieval town that carries the rhythm of the tides in its heart. Surrounded by well-preserved city walls from the 14th century, Guérande seems to defy time, and one might even describe the town as a kind of Carcassonne of the West at first glance. However, what truly makes Guérande famous lies not only within the walls – but in the vast, flat salt marshes surrounding the town. You will visit a saltworks and learn how the precious "Fleur de Sel" is painstakingly harvested. An experience for all the senses! Back in Pornichet-La Baule, you will have the opportunity to take a walk along the promenade and by the sea. Here, not only the fresh Atlantic air blows, but also a hint of Belle Époque. Dinner in a neighboring brasserie.

Day 4 | Vannes – Carnac – Quimper

(approx. 220 km)

Your journey continues to Vannes. Stroll through the city with its fortress walls and charming old town. The city is located on the large Gulf of Morbihan, one of the most beautiful nature reserves in France. The Gulf of Morbihan has a narrow connection to the Atlantic, and thus this saltwater inland sea with its numerous little islands is one of the most attractive destinations in Brittany. In Carnac, you will visit "The House of the Megaliths." The stone rows of Carnac have preserved much of their mystery. Go on a discovery tour and be impressed by the monumental architecture. To conclude, visit the submarine base in Lorient. During an individual tour around the building, you will get an impression of the stature of this gigantic concrete colossus, which consists of three blocks. The bunkers were built during World War II by the German army and served as a refuge for their submarines during the Battle of the Atlantic. Continue north towards Quimper. Dinner and overnight stay at the 4-star Hôtel Océania Quimper (local category).

Day 5 | Pont Aven – Concarneau (approx. 85 km)

After breakfast, you will get to know the painter's village of Pont Aven, which nestles picturesque in the river valley of the Aven. Here, in the 19th century, the painter Paul Gauguin lived, and many of his colleagues joined him. Afterwards, you will drive to Concarneau – a vibrant harbor town and medieval jewel at the same time. The old town, surrounded by an impressive fortress wall, invites you to stroll with its pretty little streets. As soon as you enter the town, you feel transported to another time: narrow alleys, granite houses, small shops, and crêperies tell of centuries of Breton history. For dinner, you will return to your hotel in Quimper.

Day 6 | Pointe du Raz – Locronan – Calvaries – Lannion (approx. 220 km)

Drive to the farthest western tip of Brittany. Approaching Pointe du Raz, where the land abruptly ends in rugged cliffs and the Atlantic crashes against the rocks with full force. Here, you can feel the soul of Brittany. This prominent coastal point is often referred to as the "End of the World" – la fin de la terre. Continue through the beautiful landscapes of the Armorique Nature Park to Locronan and to the famous calvaries of Brittany, stone-carved picture arches illustrating the history of salvation, readable like a book for the mostly illiterate people of the Middle Ages. After a visit, it is not far to Lannion. Check-in at the 3-star Brit Hôtel Golfhôtel in Pleumeur-Bodou (local category). Dinner at the hotel.

Day 7 | Lannion – Perros-Guirec – Rennes

(approx. 250 km)

Drive up to Perros-Guirec, a charming seaside resort located on the Pink Granite Coast. Situated on the famous Côte de Granit Rose, the Pink Granite Coast, the town offers one of the most spectacular landscapes in Brittany. Here, huge rock formations shine in warm tones of pink, orange, and gray, shaped over millions of years by wind, water, and time. You will take a boat trip in the nature reserve to the Archipelago of the Seven Islands. Back on land, the journey continues along the sea, the so-called Chemin des Douaniers, the "Customs Path" inland, and you will reach Rennes in the evening. Day 8 | Return Journey (approx. 828 km)
