Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Passau – Embarkation

Arrival in Passau and embarkation. In the evening, your ship departs and navigates a very scenic stretch of the Danube, known as the "Schlögener Schlinge".

Day 2 | Vienna

In the morning, you will travel along the charming Wachau with its castles, vineyards, and dreamy towns. In the afternoon, you will reach the beautiful city of Vienna and discover the unique charm of the Imperial Residence City on a combined city tour/walk. Afterwards, there will be time for a stroll through the pedestrian zone.

Day 3 | Esztergom – Budapest

This morning, you can take an optional excursion to Esztergom and Szentendre (optional, duration approx. 5 hours). Or enjoy the passing landscape on deck as the ship continues towards Budapest.

Day 4 | Belgrade

Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, is located at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. The city offers a large number of sights from various eras and historical buildings of different cultures. A guided tour will first take you to the Kalemegdan Fortress, from which you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Danube and Sava. After a refreshment break in a local restaurant, the program ends with a visit to the pedestrian zone, where many shops and art galleries are located.

Day 5 | Golubac – Donji Milanovac

Today you have the opportunity to take an optional excursion to the archaeological site of Lepenski Vir (optional, duration approx. 4 hours). Lepenski Vir gets its name from the large rapids in the middle of the Iron Gate. At this place, time seems to flow backward alongside the Danube, back to the well-preserved traces of the Stone Age, which are about 8,000 years old.

Day 6 | Svistov – Rousse

How about an excursion to Veliko Tarnovo – one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria (optional, duration approx. 5 hours)? The picturesque buildings are located in the rocky, terraced hills on both steep banks of the Jantram River.

Day 7 | Danube Delta

Today you can take a picturesque trip to the Danube Delta (optional, duration approx. 9 hours). You will visit the Danube Delta Museum, where you will gain interesting insights into the regional ecosystem, continue to a local restaurant for lunch, and then enjoy a two-hour boat tour through the tranquil waterways of the Danube Delta.

Day 8 | Bucharest

After breakfast, you will leave the ship in Oltenita and travel by bus to Bucharest. Discover the capital of Romania, known as the "Paris of the East," on a guided tour. Afterwards, there will be plenty of time to look for souvenirs. Before enjoying a traditional lunch in a Romanian restaurant, your journey will take you past the imposing Romanian Parliament Palace, where you will stop for a photo opportunity. On your nearly two-hour bus ride back to the ship in Giurgiu, you will cross the picturesque Romanian plain, the country's most important grain-producing area.

Day 9 | Vidin

You have the opportunity to travel from Vidin to Belogradchik (optional, duration approx. 3.5 hours). The journey is an unforgettable experience that offers a palette of beautiful impressions in every season. In the evening, a classical concert on board will bring the atmosphere of the region to life.

Day 10 | River Day – Iron Gate

Today, experience the passage through the impressive river cliff landscape at the Iron Gate. While sailing through the Iron Gate, you will witness the power of nature in its most beautiful form and enjoy views of historic bridges, monasteries, and unspoiled nature.

Day 11 | Novi Sad – Vukovar

The Serbian university city appears modern and forward-looking due to its charming liveliness. However, with the impressive Petrovaradin Fortress, you will also get to know the city from its historical glory side. In the evening, you have the opportunity to take a discovery walk through Vukovar (optional, duration approx. 2 hours), where you will visit the city center and all historically significant buildings in the area.

Day 12 | Mohács – Kalocsa

In the afternoon, you will leave the ship in Mohács for a "historical" journey, where you will learn how paprika became the "red gold" of the region around Kalocsa. Afterwards, you will visit a local family who will show you a folk dance and traditional crafts. Then, the Hungarian Puszta will captivate you – endless plains and boundless freedom. To conclude the excursion, traditionally dressed horsemen will demonstrate their riding skills, and you will enjoy a carriage ride. In Kalocsa, you will reboard the ship.

Day 13 | Budapest

Budapest, the "Queen of the Danube," is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and has preserved its own charm due to the many restorations in recent years. After an interesting city tour in the morning, you will return to the ship. In the evening, you can admire Budapest at night on a lights cruise. A folklore show on board rounds off the day.

Day 14 | Bratislava

Today you will get to know the capital of the relatively young Slovak Republic, whose old town has largely preserved its Gothic-Baroque style.

Day 15 | Spitz – Emmersdorf

After breakfast, you have the opportunity to visit the Benedictine Abbey of Melk (optional, duration approx. 4 hours), which is one of the most famous monasteries in the world and the largest monastery complex of Austrian Baroque. In the evening, we will crown your journey with a festive captain's gala dinner.

Day 16 | Passau – Return Journey

After breakfast, disembarkation and start of the return journey.
