Departure in the morning and bus ride to Passau for embarkation. After you have familiarized yourself with the ship, the anchor is lifted and course is set for Vienna. Shortly after, you will reach the border to Austria and soon your ship will pass through the Schlögener Schlinge.
In the morning, you can enjoy the passing, breathtaking river landscape in the glassed-in panoramic lounge. Upon arrival in Vienna, you will see, among other things, the Votive Church, the City Hall, and Karlsplatz with the Albertina Art Museum during a city tour. Here, the guided walk through the city center begins, where you will see more sights. The highlight of the tour is St. Stephen's Square with the Gothic St. Stephen's Cathedral – affectionately called “Steffl” by the Viennese. You will have some free time here to enjoy a delicious coffee and a slice of Sachertorte in one of the many small cafés. The return journey by bus takes you past other buildings such as the Vienna State Opera.
This morning, the tour takes you past countless sights of Bratislava, such as the Cathedral of St. Martin (Martinsdom) – the coronation church of the monarchs of the Kingdom of Hungary. The journey continues along the medieval city wall past the Grassalkovich Palace up to the castle hill with its breathtaking panoramic view of the city and surroundings. Here you will see the city's 4-towered landmark – Bratislava Castle, located 85 m above the Danube. On a guided walk through the historic city center, you will discover impressive buildings such as the St. Martin's Cathedral and the Michael's Gate. On Hlavné námestie (Main Square), you will find the Old Town Hall, and in front of it stands the Maximilian Fountain. The medieval alleys lead you past the opera, the Ganymede Fountain, and the Reduta.
This morning, you will travel through the enchanting Wachau, which stretches along the Danube for about 30 km from Krems to Melk. In the afternoon, you will reach Linz, which you will explore on a city tour. You will discover the picturesque alleys with their numerous churches during a walk. Around the main square, there are many historically relevant or architecturally interesting buildings, such as the Old Town Hall built in the 16th and 17th centuries and the Feichtinger House with its famous carillon, which changes its melody depending on the season. Another point on your city tour is the Cathedral of the Assumption, also known as “Mariendom.” The stained glass windows are particularly noteworthy. To warm up, you will receive a mulled cider along the way.
In the morning, you will arrive back in Passau. One last breakfast, and then it’s time to say goodbye. Our coach is already waiting for you to begin your journey home.
