Day 1 | Regensburg – Arrival at the Danube

Departure in the morning and drive to Windorf on the Danube. Stop in Regensburg for an individual lunch break. Afterwards, continue to the hotel, check into your room, and enjoy a joint dinner.

Day 2 | Passau – City of Three Rivers with Charm

In the morning, drive to the city of three rivers, Passau. First, head up to the Veste Oberhaus for a magnificent view of the old town and the confluence of the Ilz, Danube, and Inn rivers. Then, discover the enchanting old town with its baroque buildings and winding alleys on a walk. The Cathedral of St. Stephen houses the largest church organ in the world. Afterwards, there will be time for personal explorations. In the afternoon, return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 3 | Bavarian Canada & Glass Trails

A varied excursion through the Bavarian Forest awaits you. Via Bodenmais, known for its glass tradition and located at the foot of the Great Arber, you will drive to the Great Arber Lake and make a photo stop. Continue to Arrach to the Bärwurzerei. Here, you will learn interesting facts about the traditional specialty of the Bavarian Forest and, of course, get to taste it. Afterwards, you will drive to Arnbruck to the famous glass village of the Weinfurtner family. Here, you will have the opportunity for an individual lunch break and to visit the lovingly designed park landscape with its glass workshops and artworks. Then, you will drive to Viechtach, where you will board the train to Gotteszell. The journey takes you through the wild romantic Regental with its imposing rock formations and pristine banks – a landscape that is rightly called “Bavarian Canada.” In Gotteszell, the bus will be waiting for you to return to the hotel.

Day 4 | Waldkirchen – Horse-drawn Carriage Ride

Drive to Waldkirchen, located on the historic “Golden Trail” and once a significant station for salt trade to Bohemia. You will have free time to explore the town on your own. Afterwards, drive to Michlbauer in the neighboring village. On a cozy horse-drawn carriage ride, you will explore the surroundings, followed by a social gathering with music, coffee, and cake. Return to the hotel.

Day 5 | Schärding & Rottal

In the morning, discover Schärding, the baroque pearl on the Inn, during a city tour. Afterwards, there will be free time. Continue to Rottal, first to Bad Füssing with a tour of the famous spa. Via Bad Griesbach and the “Lower Bavarian Tuscany,” you will reach Aldersbach. During a walk, you will visit the magnificent Asam Church and the monastery complex. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to stop at the Bräustüberl before returning to the hotel.

Day 6 | Free Time

Take a hike or explore the region by bike. Rental bikes are available directly at the hotel for a fee. Alternatively, the wellness area with indoor and outdoor pools invites you to relax.

Day 7 | Farewell to the Danube

After breakfast, you will begin your journey home with many beautiful memories in your luggage.

The family-run wellness hotel Zum Goldenen Anker is idyllically located directly on the Danube.
