Itinerary
Day 1 | Ferry Crossing Genoa – Palermo
Departure in the early morning and drive to Genoa. In the early evening, you will check in on the overnight ferry for the crossing to Sicily. Dinner (self-service restaurant) and overnight stay on board.
Day 2 | Arrival in Palermo
Breakfast on board (1 espresso or 1 milk coffee or 1 tea, 2 rolls with butter and jam or 1 brioche and 1 glass of fruit juice, cheese and ham). You will spend the day at sea. In the evening, you will arrive at the port of Palermo. After arrival, transfer to your hotel in Cefalù. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3 | Cefalù – Madonie Mountains
In the morning, you will visit Cefalù with its well-preserved buildings from the Arab-Norman period. The highlight is certainly the massive Norman cathedral (UNESCO World Heritage Site). For a small snack, you will taste delicious sweets in a local pastry shop. In the afternoon, you will explore the wonderful landscape of the Madonie Mountains. You will return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 4 | Etna – Taormina
In the morning, you will drive to Etna (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Passing vineyards and vast lava fields, you will reach the Silvestri craters at an altitude of 1,900 m and enjoy a magnificent view. Taormina welcomes you in an overwhelming setting on the steep slopes of Monte Tauro. The Greek-Roman theater with its spectacular view is impressive. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 5 | Agrigento – Piazza Armerina
On the south coast, you will visit the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento today. The perfectly preserved Temple of Concordia is particularly impressive. In the afternoon, you will drive to Piazza Armerina. The Villa Casale (UNESCO World Heritage Site) with its floor mosaics depicting mythological motifs and the famous “Bikini Girls” is worth seeing. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 6 | Monreale – Palermo
First, you will visit the cathedral in Monreale with its famous mosaics and the Benedictine cloister. Then, you will head to Palermo. The capital of Sicily is a lively port metropolis. Magnificent palaces alternate with typical southern street scenes. In the evening, you will start your ferry crossing back to Genoa. Dinner (self-service restaurant) and overnight stay on board.
Day 7 | Arrival in Genoa
Breakfast on board (1 espresso or 1 milk coffee or 1 tea, 2 rolls with butter and jam or 1 brioche and 1 glass of fruit juice, cheese and ham). In the evening, you will arrive at the port of Genoa. Dinner and overnight stay in the Genoa area.
Day 8 | Return Journey
With many beautiful and new impressions and experiences in your travel luggage, you will begin your journey home.
