Travel Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Forte dei Marmi

Departure in the early morning and drive to Forte dei Marmi. Room allocation and dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 | Portovenere

Together with your tour guide, you will first travel to La Spezia, picturesque by the Gulf of Poets. As a significant port location, maritime activities have shaped the cityscape for centuries. After a sightseeing stop, you will continue to Portovenere. Portovenere is considered one of the most beautiful places on the Ligurian coast and forms the picturesque introduction to the Cinque Terre. Colorfully painted houses line up closely along the small natural harbor. You will return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 3 | Sestri Levante

The journey takes you to Chiavari, a charming coastal town on the Ligurian Riviera di Levante. The historic old town with its typical arcades invites for a relaxed stroll. Palm trees, gardens, and elegant villas underline the pleasant Mediterranean atmosphere. After a sightseeing stop, you will travel to Sestri Levante, which is considered one of the most beautiful coastal towns of the Riviera di Levante and impresses with its unique location on a narrow peninsula. The historic old town enchants with narrow alleys, elegant palaces, and small squares. Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 4 | The Villas in the Hills of Lucca

Today you will first visit Villa Grabau, an elegant example of Tuscan villa architecture from the 16th century. The manor house was owned by wealthy merchant families for centuries. Afterwards, you will visit Villa Reale, one of the most impressive historical residences in Tuscany. The extensive estate combines several eras and was once the summer residence of Elisa Bonaparte, Napoleon's sister. The afternoon is at your leisure in Forte dei Marmi.

Day 5 | Cinque Terre

Drive to La Spezia and from there continue by train to Riomaggiore, the southernmost and one of the most original villages of the Cinque Terre. Terraced vineyards surround the village and testify to the centuries-old cultural landscape of this unique region. After a sightseeing stop, you will continue by train to Monterosso, the largest of the five villages of the Cinque Terre. In the old town center, narrow alleys, pastel-colored houses, and small squares shape the image. In the afternoon, you will return to La Spezia by boat. Return to the hotel and dinner.

Day 6 | Lerici

After breakfast, you will travel to the quarries above Carrara where you will learn a lot about this impressive world. Afterwards, we invite you to a Lardo tasting. Lardo is the “white gold” of Italy – a bacon that is stored and seasoned in large marble basins. You will spend the afternoon in Lerici, a picturesque coastal town by the Gulf of Poets. The landmark of the town is the imposing castle complex that towers high above the sea. The small harbor with its colorful fishing boats, the palm-lined promenade, and the pastel-colored houses give Lerici a particularly atmospheric charm.
