Golden Autumn in South Tyrol

The magical game of autumn colors impresses anew every year. The crystal-clear autumn air allows for wonderful views of valleys and mountain ranges. Pure coziness, summer couldn't end more beautifully!

Day 1 | Arrival in South Tyrol

Departure in the morning to South Tyrol. You will be welcomed with a welcome schnapps at the family-run hotel.

Day 2 | Merano and Trauttmansdorff Castle

The long tradition as a spa town has left its mark in Merano. You have free time to explore. In the afternoon, you will visit the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, a true paradise for garden lovers.

Day 3 | Brunico and Antholzer Lake

In the morning, you will travel to Brunico, a charming town with historic flair. The picturesque old town with its colorful facades, cozy alleys, and shops invites you to stroll and linger. Afterwards, you will continue to Antholzer Lake. This well-known lake is situated at an altitude of about 1,642 m. With its turquoise-green water and the wonderful mountain scenery of the Rieserferner Ahrn Nature Park, it is a natural jewel.

Day 4 | Dolomites Tour – Sella Ronda

The Dolomites are among the most beautiful and sought-after mountain regions in the world. The drive takes you through the Puster Valley to St. Lorenzen. From there, you will continue through the beautiful Gadertal over the Campolongo Pass to Pordoi Pass and further over the Sella Pass into the Gröden Valley, the home of the world-famous Luis Trenker.

Day 5 | Bolzano – Lake Caldaro – Mendel

In the morning, you will visit the South Tyrolean capital, Bolzano. After a guided city tour, you will have some free time. Perhaps you will visit the Archaeological Museum with the famous Ötzi, the 5,400-year-old mummy? Afterwards, you will continue along the Wine Road to Lake Caldaro, the warmest bathing lake in the Alps. You can expect a Mediterranean lifestyle and an unforgettable landscape. Vineyards as far as the eye can see. Cypresses, laurel, and olive trees complete the picture. Historical manor houses in the Überetsch architectural style shape the village image. Typical details reveal the southern architecture. You will take the funicular from Kaltern to the Mendel Pass. Here you will have time to enjoy the magnificent view of the eastern Dolomites and the Brenta group in the west, Ortler, and the Passeier Alps. To conclude the day, you will visit a rustic mountain farm. End the day with a hearty meal.

Day 6 | Brixen – Neustift Monastery

Drive to the nearby Brixen. You will be delighted by the almost unchanged medieval townscape, the magnificent cathedral with its cloister, or the baroque court palace. After an individual sightseeing visit, you will continue to Neustift Monastery, one of the largest and culturally significant monasteries in the Alpine region.

Day 7 | Free Time

After a leisurely breakfast, you will take a small apple hike with the hotelier. The rest of the day is at your leisure in Natz. With the guest card, you can use almost all public transport for free and participate in the weekly program of the Natz-Schabs tourism association.

Day 8 | Return Journey

Wonderful vacation days come to an end, and you will begin your journey home.
