Travel Features
Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival at Altes Land
Departure in the morning and drive to Altes Land. Welcome to Peters – the gourmet hotel in Wingst! The Peter family introduces themselves with a welcome drink. After dinner, enjoy an introduction to beautiful Northern Germany with a video film about the southern North Sea.
Day 2 | Stade and Altes Land
Today you will visit the old Hanseatic city of Stade with its lovingly restored old town. Your tour guide will lead you through narrow cobblestone streets past charming old half-timbered houses and explain all the sights of this 1,000-year-old Hanseatic city. Afterwards, take advantage of the pedestrian zone for shopping and strolling. In the afternoon, you will drive through the famous Altes Land – Germany's largest fruit-growing area – and marvel at the huge fruit plantations. Fruit cultivation has a centuries-old tradition and is still carried out in family businesses today to produce delicious fruit for the region and the world market. A butter cake picnic is planned at the Elbe dyke. You will return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 3 | Bremerhaven
Together with your tour guide, you will travel to the vibrant port city of Bremerhaven. An unforgettable experience awaits you in the old fishing port – watch how fish comes to the plate. You will, of course, get to taste some of these delicacies, accompanied by a “Wattenschluck.” Afterwards, you will make a stop in the heart of the city: stroll along the Weser dyke and use the time in the covered Columbus Center or Mediterraneo with its numerous shops for souvenir shopping. Continuing through the impressive ore and container port, you will head to the observation platform. Here you can observe the hustle and bustle of a port of global significance from above. In the late afternoon, you will continue to Bad Bederska, where you will have the opportunity, if time permits, to take a walk by the lake and see the castle. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4 | Cuxhaven
After a hearty breakfast, your tour guide will greet you for an excursion “between the rivers.” Experience a unique landscape and culture shaped by the Elbe, Weser, Medem, Baltic Sea, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wadden Sea off Cuxhaven. A landscape that reflects the ebb and flow – small fishing villages, old crafts, whaling, “Bauerndöme,” and centuries of trade and transport on water. During a harbor tour in Cuxhaven, you will get to know the port from the water side and visit the seal banks. Back at the hotel, we invite you to a traditional fish meal. Enjoy deliciously prepared freshly caught fish from the North Sea. After dinner, Kuddel from the cutter will provide fun and good mood as the North German “original” shares humorous stories from his life.
Day 5 | Departure
With many new impressions from Northern Germany, it is time to say goodbye and you will begin your journey home.
