Itinerary

Day 1 | Overnight stay near Rouen (approx. 589 km)

Departure in the morning and drive to the overnight stay in the Rouen area. Dinner and overnight stay in a 4-star hotel (local category).

Day 2 | Ferry Cherbourg – Dublin (approx. 258 km)

Your Ireland adventure begins with the journey to Cherbourg, a historic port on the Normandy coast. Fresh sea air and the lively hustle and bustle of an important ferry port in France prepare you for the maritime experience. On board the modern Irish Ferries ship, the crossing begins, and overnight you will sail across the English Channel, the Celtic Sea, and the Irish Sea to the green island. Spacious lounges, restaurants, and bars invite you to linger while the ship heads towards Ireland. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 3 | Welcome to Ireland

Around noon, you will arrive in Dublin, the Irish capital, where history and vibrant life meet. Elegant Georgian houses, historic buildings, and famous landmarks shape the cityscape along the River Liffey. On a guided city tour, you will see, among other things, the venerable Trinity College, the majestic Christ Church Cathedral, the medieval Dublin Castle (exterior visits), and the famous Ha'penny Bridge as well as St. Patrick's Cathedral. The mix of history, cultural wealth, vibrant life, and the warmth of its people makes Dublin an experience that will enchant you. Dinner and overnight stay at the 4-star The Address Citywest Hotel (local category) in Dublin.

Day 4 | Dublin – Galway – Ireland's Wild West (approx. 260 km)

Drive towards Galway. Halfway, impressively located on the River Shannon, is the massive ruin of the Clonmacnoise monastery complex, which was considered one of the centers of Christian life on the island. In front of the cathedral stands one of the most beautiful high crosses in Ireland. In Oranmore (Galway area), you will be warmly welcomed at the 4-star Oranmore Lodge Hotel (local category).

Day 5 | Connemara – Between Mountains and Atlantic (approx. 260 km)

Today, a landscape full of contrasts awaits you – you will take an excursion to the Connemara Peninsula. Dominated by brown and purple tones, the region forms a charming contrast to the rugged Atlantic coast. Connemara, with its lonely beaches, rocky coastlines, and mysterious bogs, is one of the most beautiful areas in Ireland. On your drive through the Connemara region, you will encounter Kylemore Abbey, once the residence of the Henry family, which served for many years as a Benedictine monastery and girls' school. After your exploration, you will return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 6 | Galway – Tralee (approx. 140 km)

Today you will travel through the Burren area, where an impressive rocky landscape awaits you. Your first stop will be at the Cliffs of Moher, where the cliffs rise up to 200 m from the Atlantic. For those not afraid of heights, this offers a unique view. You will continue, passing the town of Ennis and heading to Bunratty Castle. Near the old castle, you will find a Folk Village with historic cottages, whose roofs are traditionally thatched with reeds. Continue on via Adare to Tralee and check into The Rose Hotel. Your accommodation for the next two nights.

Day 7 | Excursion Ring of Kerry (approx. 180 km)

Drive counterclockwise on Ireland's most famous scenic route – the Ring of Kerry.
