Travel Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Rotterdam – Embarkation
(approx. 407 km)

Departure in the morning and drive to Rotterdam for embarkation on the P&O ferry to Hull. Dinner and overnight stay on board the ferry.

Day 2 | Arrival in England – Continue to
Liverpool (approx. 207 km)

In the morning, your ship arrives at the port of Hull, and you will continue your journey to Liverpool by bus. Liverpool captivates with its unique blend of maritime history, impressive architecture, and world-famous music culture. During a guided city tour through the historic port city, you will see the famous waterfronts, historic dockyards, and vibrant neighborhoods. Afterwards, check in at the 4-star Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village (local category). Dinner at the Cavern Club Liverpool.

Day 3 | Heading to the Isle of Man – Ferry crossing from Heysham (approx. 236 km)

After breakfast, you will leave Liverpool and drive to Heysham. In the early afternoon, you will take the ferry to the Isle of Man. The island, which has preserved its independence, traditions, and wild beauty, immediately enchants with the scenic drive to Ramsey. Here, you will be warmly welcomed at the 3-star Ramsey Park Hotel (local category). Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 | Historic Railways and Majestic Views (approx. 87 km)

Full English breakfast and drive to Douglas, the capital of the Isle of Man. The long promenade with its elegant facades, hotels, and well-kept gardens shapes the cityscape. After a short tour, you will have free time. Take a walk along the expansive promenade with a magnificent view over Douglas Bay or stroll through the shopping streets with their shops, cafés, and restaurants. Afterwards, you will enjoy a ride on the historic horse tram along the promenade to Derby Castle and then continue with the electric tram to Laxey. From here, you will take the mountain railway to Snaefell, the highest point of the island. The ride takes you through the barren moor and mountain landscape up to the summit. On clear days, you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view over the island as well as the coasts of England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. According to an old tradition, you can even see seven “kingdoms” from here – including the sea and the sky. Back at the valley station in Laxey, you will visit the Fynoderee Distillery, a small craft distillery, to conclude the day. Of course, a tasting is included. You will return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 5 | Around the Isle of Man – Coasts,
History, and Nature (approx. 158 km)

A guided island tour will show you the full diversity of the Isle of Man today. You will first visit Peel with its maritime flair, its castle, and the cathedral (exterior visits), drive over the historic Tynwald Hill to Castletown, and continue to the southernmost point of the island, “The Sound,” where wind, sea, and rocks create an almost meditative atmosphere. In Port Erin, railway enthusiasts will particularly enjoy a visit to the Railway Museum before taking the historic narrow-gauge railway to the island's capital, Douglas. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Ramsey.

Day 6 | Farewell to the Island – Back to England (approx. 386 km)

After a very early light breakfast, you will drive to the ferry for the crossing to Heysham. Upon arrival on the English mainland, you will head to the elegant spa town of Harrogate. Dinner and overnight stay at the 4-star Old Swan Hotel (local category).

Day 7 | The Vastness of the Yorkshire Dales
(approx. 111 km)

In the morning, you will start with a city tour of Harrogate. The town is known for its historic healing springs, well-kept parks, and elegant Victorian architecture. Afterwards, you will be impressed by the overwhelming atmosphere of the Fountains Abbey ruins. It is one of the most significant medieval monastery ruins in England and was founded in 1132. In the afternoon, the Yorkshire Dales await you, an impressive landscape in northern England. Gentle valleys, vast moorlands, limestone cliffs, and meadows bordered by dry stone walls characterize the national park. In the Grassington area, you will stop for a typical “Fish & Chips” dinner. Return to Harrogate and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 8 | Historic Walls and Winding Alleys – Embarkation (approx. 97 km)

After breakfast, you will drive to York, one of the most historic cities in England. Romans, Anglo-Saxons, and Vikings have left their mark here. You will have free time and the opportunity to stroll through the narrow alleys of the old town. A walk on the well-preserved city wall offers beautiful views over the rooftops and sights of York. In the afternoon, continue to Hull and embark on the P&O ferry, which will take you back to Rotterdam overnight. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 9 | Rotterdam – Return Journey (approx. 409 km)

After a hearty breakfast on board, you will arrive in Rotterdam. After disembarking, you will begin your journey home – with unforgettable impressions of rugged coasts, green hills, and the quiet magic of the Isle of Man.
