South Tyrolean Christmas Magic

During Christmas, the alpine landscape of South Tyrol unfolds its quiet magic: Snow-covered landscapes, atmospheric Christmas markets, and traditional customs create unforgettable moments. Amid lovingly decorated stalls, handcrafted arts and crafts, and steaming mulled wine, the anticipation of the celebration can be experienced with all senses. A musical highlight awaits you at the afternoon concert by Norbert and Alexander Rier in Meransen. Surrounded by the winter mountain scenery, the music creates a festive moment. Let yourself be enchanted by the winter nature, experience festive customs, and immerse yourself in the cozy atmosphere of this special time of year.

Day 1 | Arrival

Departure in the morning and drive to South Tyrol. You will be warmly welcomed at the hotel with a welcome drink. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 | Merano and Wine Tasting

Today you can look forward to a trip to Merano, the old capital of Tyrol and a world-famous spa resort where Empress Sisi once stayed. You will have time to visit the Christmas market, which offers a huge selection of handcrafted items, high-quality products of all kinds, and South Tyrolean specialties. Before you head back to Kiens, we invite you to a wine tasting at Castle Rametz. Immerse yourself in a delightful experience!

Day 3 | St. Ulrich – Kastelruth

Drive to St. Ulrich, one of the three municipalities of the Val Gardena, which is well-known for its wood carvings. You will visit a wood carving workshop and then take a leisurely stroll through the hometown of Luis Trenker. Continue over the Panider Saddle to the picturesque village of Kastelruth, home of the “Kastelruther Spatzen.” Return to Kiens for dinner.

Day 4 | Brixen – Afternoon Concert in

Meransen

Drive to Brixen. As the oldest city in Tyrol, it transforms into a romantic winter fairy tale during Advent. The traditional Christmas market awaits you in the Cathedral Square – one of the most beautiful in South Tyrol. Lovingly decorated wooden huts line up, offering artisanal treasures and regional specialties. Around noon, you will continue to Meransen. At a festive afternoon concert with Norbert Rier, lead singer of the Kastelruther Spatzen, Alexander Rier, and the Seiser Choir “Zomsingen,” you will experience a musical Advent afternoon that touches the heart and soul. A hearty South Tyrolean platter will take care of your physical well-being. (Event start: approx. 1:30 PM, end of performance approx. 4:30 PM) You will return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 5 | Bolzano – Christmas Eve

In Bolzano, you can expect impressive civic buildings from the Renaissance and Baroque periods, as well as a variety of churches and museums. After a guided city tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Christmas market. At the traditional Christkindlmarkt in Walther Square, the scent of cinnamon, gingerbread, and mulled wine fills the air, while lovingly decorated stalls offer handicrafts and regional specialties. Back at the hotel, a small Christmas celebration awaits you with homemade cookies and orange punch. In the evening, a festive dinner will be served.

Day 6 | Free Time

The day is at your disposal for individual activities. Let your soul unwind in the 2,000 m² wellness resort and experience untouched nature.

Day 7 | Return Journey

After a hearty breakfast buffet, it is unfortunately time to say goodbye to South Tyrol. With many beautiful impressions in your travel luggage, you will begin your journey home.
