Opera Festival in Verona

"Aida" in the Arena di Verona

Verona's history does not begin with the time of Romeo and Juliet, but much earlier. Verona, which has preserved the name of the prehistoric settlement, gained great importance under the Romans, as evidenced by the amphitheater and other architectural monuments. Later, the Goths, Franks, Hohenstaufen, and Habsburgs ruled here. All epochs have left their marks.

Day 2 | Padua

Breakfast at the hotel. The ancient university city of Padua is a wonderful city with many remarkable art treasures. During a guided tour, you will discover the main sights: the Cappella degli Scrovegni with Giotto's incomparable frescoes, the old university where Galileo Galilei once taught, the Basilica of Saint Anthony, the Palazzo della Ragione – Padua's venerable courthouse, the famous Caffé Pedrocchi, the Prato della Valle – one of the largest and most beautiful squares in Europe, and much more. In the afternoon, you will return to Verona and spend the rest of the day according to your own wishes. Enjoy your free time at Piazza Brà with its numerous trattorias. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 | Verona – “Aida”

Verona is the most significant art city in Veneto after Venice and the second Roman settlement in Italy. However, the city became famous through William Shakespeare's tragedy “Romeo and Juliet.” While strolling through the old town, you will learn about Verona's history and art, see the famous balcony of Casa Giulietta, where Romeo declared his love for Juliet, wander through the elegant shopping street Via Mazzini and over Piazza Brà to the magnificent Roman amphitheater. Of course, there will also be time afterwards for dinner, relaxing, or freshening up at the hotel. Where gladiators once fought, the famous opera festival now takes place. In the evening, you will attend one of the magnificent opera performances – an overwhelming experience! After the performance, return to the hotel individually.

Day 4 | Lake Garda – André Heller Garden –
Sirmione

In the late morning, you will take an excursion to Lake Garda, picturesque in the foothills of the Southern Alps. During a panoramic drive, you will discover uniquely beautiful landscape panoramas, historically significant architecture, and idyllic fishing ports. The drive will first take you to Gardone Riviera. Here you will visit one of the most beautiful gardens in Northern Italy – the André Heller Garden. Botanists rave about the 2,000 plant species in the park, and art lovers appreciate the poetry between nature and human creation. Afterwards, you will visit Sirmione, located on a peninsula. Stroll through the romantic old town with its historic buildings and winding alleys, as well as the impressive water castle. You will return to your hotel for dinner.
