Day 1 | Baden-Baden – Arrival in Baiersbronn

In the morning, you will travel to Baden-Baden. During a guided city tour, you will get to know the most important sights of the historic spa town. Afterwards, there will be time for your own explorations. Continuing along the scenic Black Forest High Road, you will head to Baiersbronn. Check into your hotel and enjoy dinner.

Day 2 | Southern Black Forest – Freiburg im Breisgau

Your journey takes you past the mineral and moor bath Bad Rippoldsau-Schapbach through the idyllic Wolftal valley. From the Gütschkopf, you can enjoy magnificent views over the vast forests of the Black Forest. Next, you will head to Freiburg im Breisgau. During a guided city walk, you will discover the highlights of the historic city center. Afterwards, there will be free time before returning to the hotel.

Day 3 | Black Forest National Park

Directly from the hotel, you will start your hike to Buhlbachsee, one of the five mountain lakes in the Baiersbronn area, with your hiking guide. The idyllic lake is one of the quiet and particularly unspoiled places in the Black Forest. After the hike, you will return to your hotel for dinner.

Walking time: approx. 4 h 50 minutes (approx. 17.5 km)

Day 4 | Hike along the Rafting Path from Alpirsbach to Schiltach

After breakfast, you will travel with the holiday group to Alpirsbach. From here, you will start your hike along the Rafting Path with your hiking guide along the Kinzig river. First, it is worth taking a look at the historic monastery town with its impressive monastery church. The path then leads through the wooded Kinzigtal valley over Schenkenzell to Schiltach. Along the way, there are beautiful views of the Kinzig, meadows, and typical Black Forest slopes. In Schiltach, you will find lovingly restored half-timbered houses, narrow alleys, and a picturesque marketplace. After some free time, you will meet up with the holiday group again and travel back to the hotel together.

Walking time: approx. 3.5 – 4 hours (approx. 12-14 km)

Day 5 | Lake Trail Stage 1 – Two Lakes and a Waterfall

From the hiking information center at Baiersbronn train station, the Lake Trail first leads you to Sankenbachsee, a glacial lake. Afterwards, you will ascend to the impressive Sankenbach Waterfall and hike on forest paths up to about 900 m elevation. You will take a lunch break at the Kniebishütte. The route continues to the viewpoint at Ellbachseeblick with a magnificent panorama. A challenging path leads down to the idyllic Ellbachsee. After that, the route can either follow the adventure path or a wide forest road. Passing the mighty Ellbachtanne, the Ellbachhütte, and the wildlife enclosure, the path finally leads through the Ellbachtal valley back to Baiersbronn.

Elevation change: approx. 388 m ↑ / 379 m ↓

Walking time: approx. 5 hours (approx. 16.3 km)

Day 6 | Bad Wildbad – Return Journey

Today, you will begin your journey home. On the way, you will visit Bad Wildbad and experience the Black Forest from a special perspective on the treetop path. From the approximately 40 m high observation tower, you can enjoy an impressive view of the landscape. After an individual lunch break, you will continue your journey home.
