Day 1 | Arrival
Departure in the morning and drive towards Salzkammergut. You will be warmly welcomed at the hotel in St. Georgen im Attergau. Room allocation and dinner.
Day 2 | Linz with Christmas Market
Your excursion today takes you to the state capital Linz. The third largest city in Austria is beautifully located on the Danube and uniquely combines tradition and modernity. Surrounded by baroque townhouses and the impressive Old Town Hall, the main square invites you to stroll and linger. After a guided city tour, you will have free time and the opportunity to visit the Linz Advent and Christmas markets. Let yourself be enchanted by the magic of Linz Advent. Sometimes with a Ferris wheel and fairy tales, sometimes you can't see the forest for all the baubles. There is something for everyone at the various markets. In the evening, you will return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 3 | Oberndorf – Mondsee – Christmas Eve
After breakfast, the drive takes you through the Salzburg Lake District to Oberndorf. There you will visit the world-famous “Silent Night Chapel.” The chapel stands at the place where on December 24, 1818, the world-famous Christmas carol “Silent Night, Holy Night” was performed for the first time. Afterwards, you will make a small stop in Mondsee. Idyllic winter landscapes rise above the sparkling snow cover of the Mondsee region. In the evening, you can indulge in a Christmas buffet at the hotel and experience Christmas at its most beautiful. Surrounded by wintery idyll and warm hospitality.
Day 4 | Bad Ischl – Wolfgangsee
Enjoy the rich breakfast buffet. Afterwards, you will travel to the imperial city of Bad Ischl, nestled in the picturesque landscape of Salzkammergut. Where once Emperor Franz Joseph and Empress Sisi spent their summers, today you will find a charming mix of history, culture, and Austrian lifestyle. After that, continue to St. Wolfgang, at the foot of the famous Schafberg. After a sightseeing stop, it’s time to “cast off” for a leisurely boat trip across Wolfgangsee to St. Gilgen, the “Mozart village.” While strolling through the charming town, you can enjoy a village idyll paired with a cosmopolitan flair. Return to the hotel and dinner.
Day 5 | Salzburg
Salzburg – this name brings to mind the “wonder child” Wolfgang Amadeus, shop windows full of Mozart balls, festival visitors in evening gowns, traditional coffee houses, Mirabell Palace, and of course the magnificent fortress Hohensalzburg towering high above the city. After a city tour, you can be enchanted by traditional craftsmanship and fine Christmas baking at the Salzburg Christkindlmarkt. In the afternoon, you will begin your return journey to the hotel.
Day 6 | Return Journey
Wonderful Christmas days come to an end, and you will begin your journey home.
