Spend the New Year in one of the most charming regions of Bavaria! Our New Year's trip takes you to the idyllic Franconian Switzerland in Bad Staffelstein, nestled in the picturesque landscape of the Upper Main Valley. Gentle hills, striking rock formations, and romantic half-timbered
towns shape the image of this region.
Departure in the morning and drive to Bamberg. During a guided tour, you will experience how unique Bamberg is. In the historical city ensemble with churches and monasteries, with bridges, narrow alleys, and squares, with half-timbered houses and baroque facades, you will feel the magic of the past. Afterwards, there will be time at your leisure. In the afternoon, you will continue your journey to Bad Staffelstein-Schwabthal. Here, you will be warmly welcomed at the country hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, the drive takes you to Nuremberg. A city full of history, culture, and Franconian lifestyle. The medieval old town with the impressive Imperial Castle, winding alleys, and historic half-timbered houses invites you to explore. During a guided tour through the old town alleys, you will get to know the cosmopolitan atmosphere of a livable city, whose eventful history is visible in many places. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity for an individual stroll through the city. The return journey takes you to the Basilica of Fourteen Holy Helpers, one of the most significant pilgrimage churches in Germany and a masterpiece of Franconian Baroque. Designed by Balthasar Neumann, it impresses with its unique architecture. Individual sightseeing stay. You will return to your hotel for dinner.
In the morning, you will visit Coburg. The former residence city impresses with its rich history and architecture. High above the city stands the Veste Coburg, one of the largest and best-preserved castle complexes in Germany. Between history and Franconian coziness, the city unfolds its own charm. During a tour, you will explore the old town of Coburg. Afterwards, you will have time at your leisure. Stroll through Coburg's pedestrian zone and over architecturally appealing squares. Back at the hotel, you can relax a bit. The New Year's Eve evening begins with a welcome drink, before culinary highlights round off the evening. A midnight snack ensures the perfect start to the new year.
Today you will travel through the wild romantic valleys of Franconian Switzerland with its steeply rising rocks, past medieval castles. The journey takes you over Gösweinstein to the Wagner city of Bayreuth. During a city tour, you will pass the Margravial Opera House, the Old and New Castle, and then drive to the Festival Hall on the Green Hill (external visits). You will return to your hotel for dinner.
A final breakfast at the hotel and then it is time to say goodbye to Franconian Switzerland. The return journey takes you via Würzburg with the opportunity for an individual stroll. With many beautiful impressions in your travel luggage, you will then begin your journey home.
