Discover the Dirndltal in the Mostviertel, southwest of Vienna and nestled in the gentle pre-Alpine landscape of Lower Austria. Around Rabenstein on the Pielach, you can expect varied cycling tours through a charming landscape with river valleys, mountains, meadows, and picturesque towns. A special experience is the ride on the Mariazellerbahn through the mountainous world of the Mostviertel. By bike, you can follow well-known routes such as the Traisental cycle path and the Ybbstal cycle path, discovering the scenic diversity of the region.

Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival – Welcome to Dirndltal
Departure in the morning and travel to Dirndltal. Welcome at the hotel and introduction to the program. A presentation about the Mariazellerbahn prepares you for the next day. End of the day with a cozy dinner.
Day 2 | Mariazellerbahn – Traisental Cycle Path
A highlight of your trip awaits you. You will take the bus to Laubenbachmühle, the train station of the Mariazellerbahn. Here you will board the modern "Himmelstreppe" and travel on a classic narrow-gauge railway through Dirndltal and the nature park to the pilgrimage site of Mariazell. The train winds through the mountainous landscape of the Mostviertel in serpentine curves, overcoming numerous elevation meters. Hence the designation "Glacier Express of the Eastern Alps". In the cozy town of Mariazell, you will visit the impressive basilica with the candle grotto. Transition to bicycles – ride through the picturesque Walster to Gschaid. From here to Lilienfeld, it is downhill. Loading of the bikes in Lilienfeld at the monastery and travel to the hotel.

Day 3 | Triesting-Gölsental Cycle Path
Bus ride to Hirtenberg, located in the Triestingtal in the southern Vienna Woods and the starting point of the cycling tour. On the Triesting-Gölsental Cycle Path, you will cycle through varied landscapes along the Triesting and later the Gölsen. The route leads over Kaumberg to Hainfeld. At Gerichtsberg, you will face a somewhat challenging ascent before cycling predominantly downhill through the idyllic Gölsental via St. Veit an der Gölsen to Traisen. Depending on your fitness level, the bus may pick you up in St. Veit and take you to the hotel.

Day 4 | Leisure Cycling – Ybbstal Cycle Path
Today you will experience the heart of the Ybbstal Cycle Path: You will take the bus to Lunz am See before starting your ride to Waidhofen an der Ybbs. On the former railway line of the Ybbstalbahn, you will cycle almost without inclines and away from car traffic, always close to the Ybbs. Passing picturesque arch bridges, through a short tunnel and the wild romantic gorge of Ofenloch near Opponitz, the varied route leads through the impressive landscape of the Ybbstal Alps. Beautiful resting spots by the water invite you to take a break. In Waidhofen an der Ybbs, the bus will be waiting for your return to the hotel.

Day 5 | Haubiversum & Cycling in the Mostviertel
The bus will take you to Petzenkirchen to the Haubiversum, the bread experience world of Haubis. During a guided tour, you will gain exciting insights into the art of baking and experience traditional craftsmanship and modern production up close. Now you will get on your bike and ride through the varied landscape of the Mostviertel back to the hotel. The route leads along rivers, through meadows, and past small villages back to Dirndltal to the hotel.

Day 6 | Return Journey
After breakfast, the return journey will take place.
