BOHR is celebrating two anniversaries – 40 years of BOHR and 25 years of BOHR Island – and warmly invites everyone to a big celebration on BOHR Island in Lautzenhausen. Admission is free on both days.
Experience the magnificent Danube on an unforgettable river cruise with the DCS Amethyst 1. This journey, starting and ending in the three-river city of Passau, takes you to the highlights of the metropolises of Vienna, Budapest, and Bratislava. Comfortable cabins and first-class service ensure a relaxing stay on board. On three decks plus a sun deck, a total of 172 guests can be accommodated in 87 elegant outside cabins with tasteful ambiance.
Bus journey to Passau and embarkation in the afternoon on the DCS Amethyst 1, where you will be warmly welcomed with a welcome cocktail. Afterwards, enjoy a welcome dinner on board.
In the morning, you will reach the Wachau, which has been part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000. Around noon, you will arrive in Vienna and see the city's sights during a city tour and walk. Vienna has an intact historical cityscape like few other major cities, characterized by magnificent buildings from the Baroque and Gründerzeit periods. Of course, there will also be some free time. Back on board, your ship sets course downstream towards Hungary.
In the morning, you will dock in the “Queen of the Danube,” the Hungarian capital Budapest. The city boasts numerous sights. During a guided city tour and walk, you will discover many familiar and surely also unknown aspects of this historic city – magnificent Baroque buildings along the Andrássy Boulevard, the opera house, the parliament on the banks of the Danube, and the famous Chain Bridge. You will leave Pest and travel to the Buda side. Afterwards, you will walk to the viewpoint at the Castle Garden. Enjoy a wonderful view of the Danube with the parliament and St. Stephen's Basilica. Before you return on board, you will have some free time. In the evening, you will continue your cruise towards Bratislava.
Around noon, you will reach Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia. During a tour, you will pass countless sights of the city. The journey continues along the medieval city wall past the Grassalkovich Palace up to the castle hill with its breathtaking panoramic view of the city and surroundings. On a guided walk through the historic city center, you will discover impressive buildings such as St. Martin's Cathedral, Renaissance townhouses, Baroque palaces, and the Michael's Gate, among others. Back on board, the ship sets course towards Wachau.
In the morning, you will reach the Wachau and visit the 900-year-old Baroque Melk Abbey. Melk Abbey has been inhabited by Benedictine monks since its founding. Its magnificent architecture is known worldwide, and its location in the UNESCO World Heritage Site Wachau is unique. The excursion will be rounded off with a wine tasting. You can end the day with a gala dinner on board.
In the morning, you will arrive in Passau. Disembarkation and return journey.
