Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Genoa – Night Ferry

Departure in the morning to Genoa and boarding the ferry to Sardinia. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 2 | Arrival on the Island – Cap Caccia – Alghero

Arrival in Porto Torres and welcome by your local hiking guide. Drive to Capo Caccia and hike to the glowing cliffs of Punta Giglio. Through fragrant maquis and light pine forests, you will pass dwarf palms and agaves to the shining limestone rocks. Afterwards, drive to Alghero. During a walk along the historic city wall, you will discover the charming old town. Drive to the hotel.

Day 3 | Wild Romantic Volcanic Coast

Drive along the rugged west coast to the Bosa region. Your hike leads through the wild romantic volcanic coast to Torre Argentina. From the rocky headland, enjoy impressive views of the rugged coast and the Mediterranean Sea. Return to the hotel.

Day 4 | Barbagia, Orgosolo – East Coast

Continue your journey inland and explore Barbagia, the world of shepherds. In Orgosolo, once known as a notorious bandit village, you will discover the colorful murals. The wall paintings on the house walls tell of local and international events. Enjoy hearty specialties at a typical Sardinian shepherd's meal with folklore songs. Continue to the east coast to the hotel.

Day 5 | Costa Smeralda

A special highlight of your trip awaits you today at Costa Smeralda, the famous “Emerald Coast” of Sardinia. On a relaxed beach hike, experience the dreamlike coastal landscape with white sandy beaches and crystal-clear water. Afterwards, enjoy a traditional lunch with wine at an agriturismo.

Day 6 | Maddalena Islands

Today you will discover the Maddalena Islands, a largely untouched nature reserve off the northern coast of Sardinia. From Palau, take the ferry to the main island of La Maddalena and drive over the bridge to the neighboring island of Caprera. On a circular hike, you will reach the picturesque Cala Napoletana with its crystal-clear water. Return by ferry to Palau and continue to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7 | Gallura, Nuraghi & Night Ferry

You leave the east coast and travel to the green heart of Gallura. From Tempio Pausania, a local bus takes you to Monte Limbara near Vallicciola, where your hike through the picturesque mountain landscape begins. Return by local bus to Tempio Pausania. You will explore the charming granite town, surrounded by extensive cork oak forests. Continue with our bus to board the night ferry to Genoa. Dinner and overnight stay on board.

Day 8 | Genoa – Return Journey

Disembarkation in Genoa. With beautiful impressions in your luggage, you begin your journey home.

The Blu Hotel Rina in Alghero is located only about 100 m from the sandy beach and about 2 km from the historic center. The hotel complex includes an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and a bar. The comfortable rooms are decorated in a traditional style and feature a bathroom with shower, toilet, hairdryer, air conditioning, TV, telephone, minibar, safe, and Wi-Fi.
