Four-Country Tour

The third largest inland lake in Central Europe fascinates its visitors with emerald green water, snow-covered mountains, and an atmosphere reminiscent of the Italian Riviera. In addition, numerous attractions and historic cities like Bregenz, Lindau, or St. Gallen provide a unique diversity! A trip to the nearby Principality of Liechtenstein, the fourth smallest country in Europe, is also a must during a stay in this region! Here, it’s all about getting in, marveling, experiencing & enjoying!

Day 1 | Arrival

Departure in the morning and drive to Schruns-Tschagguns – a mountain village in Montafon. You will be warmly welcomed at the hotel. Check-in and evening meal.

Day 2 | Silvretta High Alpine Road and

Alpinarium Galtür

Drive along the Silvretta High Alpine Road, one of the most beautiful and popular panoramic roads in the Alps. The toll road stretches for 22.3 km from Partenen in Montafon, winding through 34 turns over the Bielerhöhe (2,032 m) to Galtür. The magnificent mountain backdrop of the Silvretta, as well as the lakes Vermunt, Silvretta, and Kops, will surely captivate you. Upon arriving in Galtür, visit the Alpinarium, built as a memorial to the avalanche victims of 1999. Return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 3 | Vaduz & Heiden Bähnli

After breakfast, you will drive to Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. Take the “Citytrain” through the historic Alt-Vaduz and past the vineyards. Then, by bus, you will reach Rorschach, located on the Swiss shores of Lake Constance. From here, the cogwheel train will take you to the beautiful Biedermeier village of Heiden. Enjoy the cozy ride on the mountain railway and the splendid view of Lake Constance. Upon arrival in Heiden, immerse yourself in the history of the place with a guided village tour. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 4 | Bregenz and Lindau

After breakfast, visit Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg. During a guided city tour, discover the lakeside promenade with the harbor as well as the medieval upper town. Then, take a boat towards Lindau, whose old town is located on an island in Lake Constance. Behind the famous harbor entrance with the Bavarian lion and white lighthouse, an impressive panorama of the Alps and Lake Constance unfolds. Use your free time for a stroll through Lindau. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 5 | St. Gallen and Appenzell

Today, you will travel to St. Gallen, which enchants with its picturesque old town and rich historical heritage. The Abbey District with its cathedral and abbey library is a UNESCO World Heritage site. After a city tour, visit the Appenzeller cheese dairy. Discover during your visit to the cheese dairy why Appenzeller cheese is the spiciest cheese of all. Afterwards, there will be some time left for a stroll through the main street of Appenzell with its colorful houses. Return to the hotel for dinner.

Day 6 | Return Journey

After breakfast, you will embark on your journey home with many new memories in your luggage.
