Itinerary

1st Day | Arrival in Großarl

Departure in the morning and drive to Großarl. Here you will be warmly welcomed at the hotel. Perhaps you still have time for the Christmas market, but "beware" Nikolaus and Krampus are roaming around. Nikolaus rewards the well-behaved children, while Krampus creates quite a noise and a sense of respect with his shaggy furs, loud bells, rattling chains, and terrifying masks. Dinner at the hotel.

2nd Day | Zell am See – Advent Singing

In the morning, you will take a trip to Zell am See in the Pinzgau region. The center of the district capital Zell am See is particularly worthwhile during the pre-Christmas season; the Star Advent Market by the lake in Elisabeth Park transforms the lakeside promenade into a paradise of romance. Back in Großarl, you will find the lovingly decorated Advent market in the town center. In around 30 small "Almhütten," handicrafts and regional specialties are offered. Musical performances and changing program points provide entertainment. After dinner at the hotel, you will enjoy Advent singing in the parish church of Großarl. Traditional music, brass players, choirs, and Christmas stories will enchant you. The romantic nativity path leading up to the church is illuminated with torches, setting the mood for a wonderful evening.

3rd Day | Werfen – Advent at the Castle

At noon, you will drive to Werfen to visit Hohenwerfen Castle, which towers high above the Salzach Valley. You can comfortably reach the castle complex via the inclined lift. In the impressive medieval setting, you will find one of the most romantic Advent markets in the region – featuring handicrafts, culinary delights, and a unique view of the wintery Salzach Valley. In the evening, you will return to the hotel in Großarl.

4th Day | St. Johann/Pongau – Großarl

After breakfast, you will travel to St. Johann im Pongau, home to the impressive Pongau Cathedral. Stroll through the beautifully decorated city and enjoy the atmosphere. Early afternoon return to Großarl, with time left for personal activities – how about a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through Großarl or a winter walk? For dinner, you will again be spoiled by the hotel restaurant's cuisine.

5th Day | Journey Home

Packed with many beautiful impressions in your travel luggage, you will begin your journey home.
