Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival in the Verona Area
Departure in the morning and drive south – to Veneto. In the late afternoon, you will be warmly welcomed at your hotel in Castel d'Azzano. Check-in and dinner.
Day 2 | Garda – Bardolino
After breakfast, you will visit Italy's largest and perhaps most beautiful mountain lake, Lake Garda. Mediterranean influences blend wonderfully with alpine ambiance here. Picturesque towns with historically significant architecture and idyllic fishing harbors alternate with cypress, olive, and oleander trees. Nestled between the rock Rocca and the peninsula of San Virgilio lies Garda. Stroll through the narrow streets with Venetian-style facades and quiet squares of the old town, passing boutiques and cafés. Next, we continue to Bardolino, the wine town. Thanks to the sparkling red wine produced in the hilly hinterland, the former fishing village of Bardolino is well-known. Amidst picturesque vineyards and olive groves, numerous wineries and oil mills are located inland. Before you return to your hotel, we invite you to a wine tasting with a small snack to conclude this day. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 | Verona – “Nabucco”
Verona is the most important art city in Veneto after Venice and the second Roman settlement in Italy. However, the city became famous through William Shakespeare's tragedy “Romeo and Juliet.” While strolling through the old town, you will learn about Verona's history and art, see the famous balcony of Casa Giulietta, where Romeo declared his love to Juliet, wander through the elegant shopping street Via Mazzini and over Piazza Brà to the magnificent Roman amphitheater. Of course, there will also be time for leisure. Stay in a trattoria on Piazza Brá, stroll through the old town or through the highly elegant shops. After dinner at the hotel, it’s time for the performance “Nabucco” in the grand setting of the Arena di Verona (start: approx. 9:00 PM). An overwhelming experience! After the performance, return to the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 4 | Mantua
After a leisurely breakfast, you will take an excursion to Mantua. The city was developed into an art center during the Renaissance by the wealthy Gonzaga family. The most significant sights are the dreamy squares Sordello, Broletto, and Erbe, as well as the Palazzo Ducale. Let yourself be transported back in time during a guided tour and discover the cultural treasures of the historic city of Mantua. Afterwards, there will be some free time before returning to your hotel.
Day 5 | Return Journey
Reflect on the impressions of the trip during breakfast. Afterwards, you will begin your journey home.
