New Year's Eve in the Altmühltal

Altmühltal Nature Park – a small region in the heart of Bavaria, shaped by the low mountain landscapes of the Southern Franconian Jura. Immerse yourself in the winter world of the Altmühltal with its valleys and rivers, enjoy historic old towns and medieval treasures, and discover evidence of past times even in nature.

Day 1 | Arrival – Dinkelsbühl

Departure in the morning and drive towards Dinkelsbühl in the Altmühltal. Here you will experience the history of the residence city during an entertaining walk through the old town and see the most important sights. Of course, there will also be some free time. In the late afternoon, you will continue to Titting-Emsing. At the 4-star Superior Hotel Dirsch, you will be warmly welcomed. After dinner, you will take a torch-lit hike through the village of Emsing with mulled wine tasting and pastries.

Day 2 | Eichstätt – Neuburg an der Donau

Enjoy the rich breakfast buffet before embarking on an excursion with a knowledgeable tour guide. The first point of interest is Eichstätt. Eichstätt's baroque ambiance radiates joyful exuberance and delights with masterful buildings and squares. You will have free time during the lunch break. Afterward, you will continue to Neuburg an der Donau. The magnificent castle facade with its two distinctive round towers can be seen from afar. Neuburg has many sights to offer, such as the town hall, Karlsplatz, the court church, St. Peter's parish church, and much more. Dinner and then a Bavarian traditional evening with dance performances and cultural demonstrations at the hotel.

Day 3 | Ingolstadt – Free Time – New Year's Eve

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Ingolstadt. Here, a city guide awaits you for a tour of the old town. Tradition and modernity combine in Ingolstadt in diverse and wonderful ways. Among other things, see the Old Town Hall, the Cathedral, the Asam Church, and much more. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Use the time until New Year's Eve in the hotel's wellness area. In the evening, we invite you to the grand gala New Year's buffet followed by live music. Chimney sweeps will hand out good luck charms, and at midnight you can strengthen yourself at the buffet with goulash soup and Bavarian snacks. Celebrate the New Year together!

Day 4 | New Year – Free Time

Enjoy the long Altmühltal country breakfast buffet with white sausages and Nuremberg sausages before you have the day at your leisure. Perhaps take a break from everyday life and relax in the SPA area of the wellness hotel. In the afternoon, we invite you to coffee and homemade cakes from the buffet. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5 | Altmühltal – Beilngries

After the rich breakfast buffet, you will take an excursion through the lower Altmühltal to the Liberation Hall in Kehlheim (outside visit). On the way back, you will make a stop in Beilngries. A touch of the south wafts through the streets of the historic old town with its medieval towers and baroque buildings. During a guided city walk, you will learn a lot of interesting facts about the history of this more than thousand-year-old place. Afterward, you will have free time. In the afternoon, return to the hotel. Perhaps use the time before dinner for another visit to the wellness area? Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 | Nuremberg – Departure

With a delicious breakfast, you will say goodbye to the Altmühltal and begin your journey home. On the way, you will make a stop in Nuremberg. Here, a knowledgeable tour guide awaits you for a guided tour of the old town. Return home in the early afternoon.
