Departure around noon and drive to Düsseldorf. The city is particularly known for its elegant Königsallee (Kö) where you can feel a touch of luxury and elegance. The old town extends over just half a square kilometer and is still known as “the longest bar in the world.” In fact, Düsseldorf's old town has many facets beyond the famous Altbier and the notorious rough-and-tumble Köbesse, as the waiters/waitresses are called here. After checking into your room, the New Year's Eve evening is at your leisure. The “longest bar in the world” is particularly lively that evening. Before the party begins, you still have the opportunity to strengthen yourself in one of the countless restaurants. At midnight, the fireworks begin, colors explode over the Rhine, reflect in the water, and bathe the city in a magical light. We wish you a happy New Year!
After a cozy breakfast at the hotel, you will drive to Cologne to visit the Elves' Winter Tale in the old town of Cologne. The “Heinzelmännchen” enchant the old town of Cologne every year with the city's largest Christmas market and a spectacular ice rink. The market offers a rich selection of specialties and handicrafts. Its more than 100 market stalls are divided into different themed alleys and small squares, stretching over Alter Markt and Heumarkt. In the late afternoon, you will begin your journey home.
The modern Holiday Inn Express Düsseldorf - Central Station is located near the old town, about 300 m from the Capitol Theater. The rooms are equipped with a shower, toilet, hairdryer, TV, coffee and tea making facilities, air conditioning, and free Wi-Fi. Enjoy a breakfast in the morning with all your favorite dishes from sweet to savory.
