In the evening, the nearby Nova Mar Bella beach invites you for a walk.

Day 3 | Barcelona

After breakfast, you will take a panoramic tour of the Catalan capital with your local guide, making photo stops along the way. With its favorable location in the northeast of the Iberian Peninsula, its warm, pleasant climate year-round, and the hospitality of its nearly three million inhabitants, Barcelona is always worth a visit. You will find a city full of life and charm. Architecturally, Barcelona is a very diverse city with many outstanding buildings. Notable sites include the Gothic Quarter, the shopping street Las Ramblas, Plaça de Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, the Sagrada Familia, Hospital de Sant Pau, the Columbus Monument, and the ascent to Montjuic. Afterward, you will have the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 4 | Barcelona – Valencia (approx. 360 km)

Today, you will continue to Valencia. Upon arrival, you will get to know the city better on a guided tour. The visit begins with a walk through the City of Arts and Sciences, built by the world-famous architect Santiago Calatrava. The extravagant opera house and the music palace with four halls covering 37,000 m² are impressive. Then, you will head to the center of Valencia with its impressive mansions and monuments from the past. You will see the old silk exchange from 1482, the old city wall, and the cathedral (outside visit). Afterward, free time in Valencia. Overnight stay and dinner at the hotel in Valencia.

Day 5 | Valencia – Granada (approx. 500 km)

Departure to Granada after breakfast. Upon arrival, you will visit the Alhambra with your guide (subject to local authorities). Go on a discovery tour of the so-called Red Castle. It is considered the most beautiful Arab building in Europe and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. After visiting the Nasrid Palace and other highlights of the Alhambra, you will explore the gardens of the Generalife. After a suitable visit, you will check into your hotel in Granada.

Day 6 | Granada – Córdoba (approx. 200 km)

Today, after breakfast, you will continue to Córdoba. The city of the caliphs is located on the Guadalquivir River in northern Andalusia. Your local guide will take you to the most beautiful sights of the city. A visit to the Mezquita Mosque, one of the most beautiful and significant buildings in Spain, is a must. It is the legacy of the Arabs, who made Córdoba one of the most important cities in the world around the turn of the millennium. With its magnificent courtyards and masterpieces by Moorish architects, the city will captivate you. Check into your hotel and have dinner in Córdoba.

Day 7 | Córdoba – Toledo – Madrid
(approx. 420 km)

Your journey continues as you drive to Toledo after breakfast and visit the old imperial city. The old town with the Cathedral of Santa María and the Alcázar from the 16th century, as well as numerous other churches, a monastery, and museums, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in December 1977. Also worth seeing are two of the very rare preserved medieval synagogues, El Transito and Santa Maria la Blanca, which were used as churches after the expulsion of the Jews in 1492. Afterward, continue to Madrid for an overnight stay. Check into the hotel and have dinner.

Day 8 | Madrid – Aranda de Duero – Burgos (approx. 250 km)

After breakfast, you will take a city tour in Madrid with a local guide. The capital of Spain, with its nearly six million inhabitants, is a very green, well-kept, and modern city and impresses with a mix of urbanity, village life, and zest for life. A part of Madrid, built under the Spanish Habsburgs, is still called “El Madrid de los Austrias” (The Madrid of the Austrians). Here – in the oldest district of Madrid – you will take a walk to admire the magnificent buildings up close. In the afternoon, depart towards Burgos with a visit to an underground winery from the 15th century in the Aranda de Duero area. A wine tasting rounds off the excursion, and you will then continue to Burgos for an overnight stay.

Day 9 | Burgos – La Rioja – Pamplona
(approx. 260 km)

In the morning, you will first visit Burgos with your local guide. Burgos was founded around 850 as an important fortress in the fight against the Moors and rose to become the coronation city of the kings of Castile in the 11th century, highlighting its special significance. The Cathedral of Burgos is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is famous for its size and architecture. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. Continue through the wine-growing region of La Rioja to the medieval small town of Laguardia, the most important town in Rioja Alavesa. Here you will have free time. The entire town center of Laguardia is surrounded by walls built at the beginning of the 20th century. It is worth taking a walk through Laguardia, as the entire town center is of undeniable artistic and historical interest. Alternatively, visit one of the numerous wineries to taste and purchase some of the excellent wines. After a suitable stay, you will continue to Pamplona.
