Day 1 | Arrival in Schwerin

Arrival in Schwerin and check-in at the hotel. Afterwards, there is time to gather first impressions of the charming region. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 | Schwerin – Castle & Lake Cruise

After breakfast, drive to Schwerin's old town. During a guided tour, you will discover the historic city center with its magnificent buildings and charming squares. Afterwards, there is time for an individual lunch break and a stroll through the summer-bustling streets. Blooming squares, cozy street cafés, and – depending on the event calendar – music and events create a lively atmosphere. In the afternoon, you will visit the magnificent Schwerin Castle before experiencing the city and its picturesque lake landscape from the water on a boat trip on Lake Schwerin. Return to the hotel. Those who wish to enjoy the summer late afternoon in the city can return to the hotel individually by public transport. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 | Wismar & Island of Poel

Drive to the historic Hanseatic city of Wismar. During a city tour, you will discover the charming old town with its magnificent brick buildings, the marketplace, and impressive churches. An elevator in St. George's Church takes you to the observation platform at a height of 35 meters. From here, you can enjoy an impressive view over Wismar, the harbor, and the surrounding area. Afterwards, there is time for an individual lunch break and personal explorations. Take the opportunity to visit the World Heritage House, admission is free. In the afternoon, take a boat from Wismar to the island of Poel – enjoy the view of the coastal landscape. Upon arrival in Kirchdorf, visit the island museum and take an individual tour. Afterwards, we will drive by bus to the west coast to Timmendorf, to the island's landmark, the distinctive lighthouse. From here, return to the hotel.

Day 4 | Schaalsee – Monastery & Border History

Today, the excursion takes you through the picturesque landscape of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Schaalsee. Between wide meadows, forests, and sparkling lakes, we head to Zarrentin on Lake Schaalsee. There, a guided tour of the former monastery with the church of St. Peter and St. Paul, as well as the adjacent local museum, awaits you. Afterwards, we will go to Schlagsdorf to the Border House. Here, you will gain interesting insights into the history of the inner-German border and life in the former border area. After that, return to Schwerin.

Day 5 | Return Journey

After breakfast, the return journey begins.
