Day 1 | Arrival in Münsterland –
Schloss Westerwinkel
Departure in the morning and travel by modern coach to Münsterland. To get in the mood, you will visit Schloss Westerwinkel, the baroque castle in the heart of Münsterland. The closed four-winged complex was built in the mid-17th century amidst an English garden. After a guided tour of the castle, you will continue to your hotel in Billerbeck. Check-in and dinner.
Day 2 | Münster – Free time (Weekly market)
Today, you will discover the venerable bishop and university city of Münster on a guided tour. Surprising contrasts are part of the cityscape. Picasso behind Westphalian noble facades, baroque jewels next to icons of contemporary architecture – a fascinating mix that makes Münster's charm. You will see the historic town hall, the Prinzipalmarkt framed by magnificent patrician houses, as well as the mighty St. Paul's Cathedral and the Astronomical Clock. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity for an individual city stroll and visit the large weekly market at the cathedral square, which is known far beyond the city limits and with around 150 stalls is the largest in Münster. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 3 | Three Pearls of Münsterland
After breakfast, your tour through the beautiful Münsterland begins – around 100 castles and manors are scattered throughout the entire Münsterland. You will first see Burg Hülshoff, the birthplace of Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. Nestled in a picturesque park landscape, this typical Westphalian water castle has a family tradition that spans over 500 years, giving it the original Münsterland character and appearance. In Lüdinghausen, you will receive a guided tour of the Vischering castle complex, which is considered an ideal example of a Münsterland water castle.
