Bad Salzuflen Star Cycle Tour

Explore the green Lipperland on idyllic routes. The traditional spa town welcomes you with its historic city center and the impressive Gradierwerk experience that allows for deep breathing. The routes predominantly lead through flat to slightly hilly terrain, and you traverse a landscape shaped by the rivers Werre and Bega. You will discover, among other things, the elegant spa district of Bad Salzuflen, the old Hanseatic city of Lemgo, and embark on the "Werre-Weser-Route" to Bad Oeynhausen, cycling to the "Viaduct at Obersee," one of Bielefeld's most beautiful excursion destinations. Day 1 | Arrival – Kassel

Departure in the morning towards Bad Salzuflen. In Kassel, you will make a stop for an individual lunch break. Explore the documenta city of Kassel at your own pace. Stroll through the historic city center and enjoy something delicious in one of the restaurants. Continue to Bad Salzuflen, where you will already be expected. After checking into your room, the hotel will welcome you with lippische coffee and cake along with a cup of coffee/tea.

Day 2 | Bad Salzuflen – Old Hanseatic City of Lemgo

You will start the tour at the spa park with its impressive graduation towers. From there, you will pass by historic half-timbered houses of the old town and head out into the rural Lippe. After just a few kilometers, the view opens up to meadows, fields, and small woods, typical of the Lipper Land. In Lemgo, you will find magnificent buildings of the Weser Renaissance, lovingly restored half-timbered houses, and a lively marketplace with dining options. The return will be along Schloss Brake with its oil mill.

Cycling route: approx. 45 km, 160 m elevation (easy)

Day 3 | Werre – Weser – Route

On this cycling trip, you will discover the most beautiful sides of East Westphalia. Along the Bega, you will head to Vlotho and from there a few kilometers on the well-known Weser cycle path along the Weser to the Werre-Weser kiss in Bad Oeynhausen. Here, the Werre flows into the Weser. The return will be via Herford along the Werre back to Bad Salzuflen. There are dining options along the way.

Day 4 | Viaduct at Obersee

This varied cycling tour connects the spa town of Bad Salzuflen with one of Bielefeld's most beautiful excursion destinations: the historic viaduct at Obersee. The route, part of the former narrow-gauge railway line, leads through the diverse landscape of East Westphalia, past fields, meadows, and quiet paths. A mix of nature, water, and historical railway architecture. Along the way, cozy dining options invite you to rest and take breaks.

Day 5 | Bielefeld – Return Journey

After an extensive breakfast buffet, the luggage will be loaded, and you will leave Bad Salzuflen. In Bielefeld, you will make a stop. The city offers a charming mix of historic city center and modern culture. Stroll through the old town with its friendly atmosphere and enjoy some personal downtime in one of the cozy cafés before you head home.
