Day 1 | Monschau – Arrival
Departure in the morning and drive to Monschau. One of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany takes place in Monschau on the Advent weekends. The lighting of the festively decorated old town resembles a starry sky. The enticing scent of Printen, almonds, and delicious mulled wine wafts through the narrow alleys. The attractive selection of crafts, decorations, Christmas ornaments, high-quality and unique gifts, and delicacies promises a lot of fun while shopping for gifts and enjoying. Check-in at the hotel and individual evening arrangements.
Day 2 | Maastricht – Velvet Cave
Today, let yourself be inspired by the personal stories of a local who brings the present and the past to life. During your tour in Maastricht, you will get to know the most interesting sights, squares, and streets. The tour will end at the famous Vrijthof square where André Rieu performs his incomparable concerts. Afterwards, you will experience the probably most unusual Christmas market in the Netherlands in Valkenburg. The underground passages of the Velvet Cave, which probably date back to the 11th/12th century, will enchant you. Marvel at the beautifully decorated stalls in the warmly lit corridors and let yourself be tempted by the culinary delights. Whether you are looking for handmade gifts or just want to enjoy the special atmosphere, you must not miss the Christmas market in the Velvet Cave.
Day 3 | Aachen Printen
After breakfast, we drive to Aachen. Today, you will discover the many facets of Aachen's old town during a city tour. Twisted alleys, charming squares, the Aachen Cathedral, the magnificent town hall, and the playful puppet fountain – during this tour, the 2,000-year history of the city comes to life between historical heritage and modern lifestyle. The Printen is the “national pastry” of the Achenese. There are numerous variations: hard and soft Printen, with almonds or nuts, decorated with icing or covered in chocolate. During a visit to a Printen bakery, you will learn all about the famous Aachen specialty. To conclude the day, you will visit the Aachen Printen and Chocolate Factory Lambertz, where you can taste the treats during the factory sale. Return to Monschau and individual evening arrangements.
Day 4 | Liège – Return Journey
After breakfast, you will begin your return journey. In Liège, you will make a small stop and have the opportunity to visit the Christmas market. Every year, Christmas magic enchants the city. Around 200 Christmas market stalls offer all conceivable seasonal and regional products at the Place Saint-Lambert and the Place du Marché. With one or two souvenirs for those who stayed at home, you will head home in the afternoon.
