Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival in Hamburg
Departure in the morning and drive to the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. During a harbor tour, you will experience one of the largest ports in the world and get up close to the fascinating working world of a global harbor. Back on land, you will be warmly welcomed with a hearty “Moin” at the 4-star Mercure Hotel Hamburg Mitte. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 | Hamburg – Puttgarden – Ferry crossing Rødby – Copenhagen
After breakfast, you will continue your journey over the island of Fehmarn to the ferry terminal in
Puttgarden. With a Scandlines ferry, you will make a short crossing over the
Femern Belt to Rødby. Continue by bus to the capital, Copenhagen. Check-in at the 4-star Scandic Spectrum Hotel (local category) and dinner.
Day 3 | First acquaintance
In the morning, you will explore the “Most Livable City in the World” on a city tour, with its exciting architecture and great atmosphere. Experience the Town Hall, the old Renaissance stock exchange, the Parliament building, the Royal Theater, the old harbor area “Nyhavn”, the royal residence Amalienborg (exterior visits) with the changing of the guard at 12:00, the Gefi fountain, and the famous statue of the Little Mermaid at Langelinie. After an individual lunch break, you will get to know the harbors and canals of Copenhagen on a canal tour. Back on land, the rest of the afternoon and evening are at your leisure. We recommend visiting one of the oldest amusement parks in the world – Tivoli. Or how about a shopping tour through the trendy district of Vesterbro, the hip area of Copenhagen!
Day 4 | North Zealand
Today you will drive along the Danish Riviera, passing grand villas to Helsingør – one of the most beautiful and significant cities in Denmark. The charming harbor town on the Øresund is not only known for the UNESCO World Heritage site Kronborg Castle but also as the filming location for the successful ZDF crime series “Dan Sommerdahl – Deadly Idyl.” Historical alleys, a maritime atmosphere, and impressive coastal panoramas give the city its unique charm. Afterwards, you will visit Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød. It is the largest Renaissance castle in Scandinavia and is often described as the “Versailles of the North.”
Surrounded by a lake, a baroque and landscape garden, it is one of the most beautiful buildings of the Danish Renaissance. Back in Copenhagen, the rest of the afternoon and evening are once again at your leisure.
Day 5 | Copenhagen – Lübeck
Drive to Rødby for the ferry crossing to Puttgarden. Once again, you will breathe in the fresh sea air during your crossing over the Femern Belt. Back on land, you will head to Lübeck. Lübeck entices with UNESCO World Heritage, historical monuments, winding alleys, and welcomes you with North German culture. A knowledgeable tour guide will give you a great insight into Lübeck's city history. Afterwards, check-in and dinner at the 4-star Park Inn by Radisson Lübeck.
Day 6 | Return journey
With many beautiful and new impressions in your travel luggage, you will begin your journey home today.
