Hiking in the heart of Trentino

Look forward to the holiday region of Val di Sole, one of the most spectacular hiking areas that is part of the Dolomites. It is a valley over 40 km long in the northwest of Trentino, in the heart of the Brenta Dolomites between the Adamello Brenta Nature Park and the Stilfserjoch. The name Val di Sole means 'Valley of the Sun', named for the beauty of its enchanting mountains, green landscapes, and mild sunny climate.

Day 1 | Arrival in the Sunny Valley

Departure in the morning and drive south – Bella Italia. You will be warmly welcomed with a "Welcome Home Drink". After that, check into your room and have dinner.

Day 2 | In the Brenta Group to Lake Malghette

After a short drive by minibus, you will reach the Dimaro Alm, the starting point of the hike. You will enjoy a magnificent view of the Sasso Rosso and the Brenta Dolomites. A pleasant hiking trail leads you through forests and alpine meadows up to Lake Malghette, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Brenta Group. After a leisurely round of the lake, you will return to the parking lot and from there drive to the hotel.

Hiking time: approx. 2.5 – 3 hours (approx. 7.5 km)

Day 3 | Scenic Train Ride to Trento

Your hiking shoes will have a "rest day"; after breakfast, you will start the train ride from Val di Sole, through Val di Non to the provincial capital Trento. The route passes by apple orchards and forests, offering unforgettable views. After nearly 2 hours, you will reach Trento, the jewel in the heart of the Alps. A local guide will meet you and show you this unique art city on a subsequent city tour. There will be free time before you return to Val di Sole by coach.

Day 4 | Saent Waterfalls

Strengthened by breakfast, you will start the hike in the Stilfserjoch National Park in the Ortler-Cevedale mountain group. Here lies the Saent Valley with its impressive waterfalls, the Saent Waterfalls. You will take a minibus to the Rabbi Valley, where the landscape harmoniously integrates farms and alpine huts. At the end of the valley, in the village of Coler (1,380 m), your hike begins. You will ascend to 1,539 m to the Stablasol Alm and continue towards the Dorigoni mountain hut. You will walk to the famous bridge at the second waterfall, which is overwhelming (viewing point 1,750 m). Now you will hike to the Stablét visitor center, which is dedicated to the marmot. You will return to Coler and drive back to the hotel.

Day 5 | National Park Stilfserjoch – Lake Pian Palù

Today's hike leads into the Stilfserjoch National Park for a round tour around Lake Pian Palù, which impresses with its crystal-clear colors and typical alpine pastures. The minibus will take you to the starting point at Fontanino (1,680 m), located in the valley basin of Monte-Tal. The path initially ascends and leads over a few hairpin bends to Lake Pian Palù (1,810 m). This artificial reservoir with its characteristic emerald green water surface was created in the 1950s for hydroelectric purposes. After a gentle ascent and then a gentle descent, you will reach the Palù Alm (1,824 m). You will follow the path that runs through the untouched and wild Stilfserjoch National Park. Soon you will see the Alm Giumella (1,952 m), from where the path leads to the parking lot, the end of the hike.

Day 6 | Return Journey

After breakfast, you will begin your journey home with beautiful memories and great experiences in your luggage.

To avoid plastic waste, we recommend bringing your own drinking bottles. There are many natural sources of fresh drinking water along the way.
