Travel Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrival in Wingst
Departure in the morning and drive to Wingst. Welcome to Peters – the gourmet hotel in Wingst! The Peter family introduces themselves with a welcome drink. After dinner, enjoy an introduction to beautiful Northern Germany with a video about the Cuxland.
Day 2 | Stade and the Old Country
Today you will visit the old Hanseatic city of Stade with its lovingly restored old town. Your tour guide will lead you through narrow cobblestone streets past charming old half-timbered houses and explain all the sights of this 1,000-year-old Hanseatic city. Afterwards, take advantage of the pedestrian zone for shopping and strolling. In the afternoon, the journey continues to the Old Country. In Germany's largest contiguous fruit-growing area, with picturesque estates and thatched half-timbered houses, you will take an exciting ride on a typical fruit farm in the Apple Crate Express over the farm grounds. Afterwards, there is the opportunity to shop at a farm shop: sweets, juicy fruits, homemade goods, and high-proof apple products are offered in variety. You will return to your hotel for dinner.
Day 3 | Helgoland
After an early breakfast, you will take a day trip to the offshore island of Helgoland. There are many islands along the North Sea coast, but none can compare to Helgoland. About 70 km from the mainland, Germany's only offshore island rises from the water. The ferry ride from Cuxhaven already sets the stage for an exciting island day. The distinctive red sandstone cliffs rise prominently from the sea. The lower land with its colorful lobster huts and small shops invites you to stroll and linger. Enjoy the fresh North Sea air, the maritime flair, and the special atmosphere of this extraordinary island. In the evening, you will return to your hotel.
Day 4 | Around Wingst
Today you will get to know the land and its people better. Together with your tour guide, you will visit the spa park and zoo in Wingst. At the foot of the observation tower “Deutscher Olymp,” we invite you to a glass of sparkling wine. Next, we will visit the technical monument of the suspension ferry, built by a student of the Eiffel Tower's constructor, not far from Wingst. The suspension ferry crosses the Oste, a tributary of the Elbe. Afterwards, we will head to Ottendorf, right at the mouth of the Elbe. The idyllic North Sea resort delights with its lovingly preserved historical old town and true North German charm. During a short mudflat tour, you will learn about the unique natural spectacle of ebb and flow. You can walk on the green salt meadows and dikes and watch the large ships. After a round tour through Cuxhaven, you will return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 | Departure
With many new impressions from Northern Germany, it is time to say goodbye and you will begin your journey home.
