Color spectacle for dahlia bloom

A unique color spectacle awaits you in late summer in the Netherlands. Not only does the heath shine in a sea of purple colors, but also the magnificent dahlias with their large, round flowers make this season a special experience. In the unique dahlia show garden on a farm, you will find more than 600 varieties of dahlias. You will be surprised by how many types and colors there are. A visit to the beautiful award-winning castle gardens of Arcen in the Limburg region rounds off this trip. They are among the most versatile flower and plant parks in all of Europe. Enjoy 32 hectares full of scents and colors.

Day 1 | Appeltern – Arrival

Departure in the morning and drive to the Netherlands for the dahlia bloom. In Appeltern, you will make a stop to visit the demonstration gardens. They bloom during the dahlia season in a spectacular display of colors. Discover the variety of garden concepts with countless dahlia varieties that are harmoniously integrated into the landscape and inspire you for your own garden design during a guided tour. Garden accessories and regionally produced specialties to taste and take home complete the offer. Afterwards, continue to Delft to the hotel, check into your room, and have dinner.

Day 2 | Tour – Dahlia Demonstration Garden

After breakfast, you will take a beautiful boat trip through the green heart of the Netherlands, known for its flat lakes and islands. The islands are polders and are still drained by 18 restored polder mills. Most of these mills can be admired during the tour. Lunch is provided, which you will enjoy directly on board. Afterwards, visit the dahlia demonstration garden on a farm in Voorhout with more than 600 dahlia species. (Note: Last-minute changes to the itinerary are possible – the times for the boat tour will only be announced shortly before.) At the end of this lovely day, you can relax on the beach of Katwijk aan Zee or stroll along the shops.

Day 3 | Leiden – Delft

In the morning, you can explore Leiden, home to the oldest university in the Netherlands and the birthplace of the Dutch artist Rembrandt, individually. Stroll through the historic streets, along picturesque canals, past impressive buildings and museums that reflect the city's rich cultural heritage. At the same time, the vibrant student life creates a special atmosphere. In the afternoon, Delft takes center stage: Discover the charming city of princes with idyllic canals, bridges, and a marketplace surrounded by street cafés and a town hall from the 17th century during a guided tour.

Day 4 | Arcen – Return Journey

The crowning conclusion of your trip is the beautiful and award-winning castle gardens of Arcen. Countless themed gardens create a sea of scents and colors. Idyllic pond landscapes and small waterfalls invite you to linger. Each garden is an attraction in its own right and surprises with a different style. After an appropriate visit, you will begin your journey home.

The modern hotel is located on the outskirts of Delft, approximately 2 km from the historic center. The hotel rooms, which have been fully designed by IKEA, are all equipped with a TV, air conditioning, espresso machine, and kettle. In the restaurant "Blue Dining," you can enjoy dinner based on Mediterranean cuisine. During your stay, you can use the fitness area with panoramic sauna free of charge.
