Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival in Piedmont

Departure in the morning and drive to Piedmont. The hotel is located in Bra, one of the most famous regions for wines and culinary specialties - in the heart of southern Piedmont. After checking into your room, you will be expected for dinner.

Day 2 | Asti and Canelli

You will take an excursion into the charming hilly landscape of Monferrato with its vineyards, villages, and Roman buildings. In Asti, the famous wine and sparkling wine city of Piedmont, you will learn more about the home of the world-renowned Spumante. Afterwards, you will visit the impressive “underground cathedrals” in Canelli – kilometers of cellars carved into tuff stone from the 16th to 19th centuries, whose constant climate is ideal for the aging of fine wines. To conclude, you will enjoy a tasting of the famous Spumante.

Day 3 | Langhe Wine Region

The Langhe is one of the most fascinating landscapes in the Piedmont region, famous for its wine, wonderful nature, and especially its culinary delights. In the middle of the wine-growing region lies the small medieval, picturesque town of La Morra, on the highest peak of the Bassa Langhe. Barolo is also referred to as the “King of Wines,” as it was preferred by members of the royal Savoia family, and we too will have the opportunity to taste this royal wine, accompanied by a rich snack, exclusively. Surrounded by vineyards and known for its red wine, you will now visit one of the most beautiful villages in Italy: Neive.

Day 4 | Alba and Truffle Hunting

You will visit the city of a hundred towers: Alba. The main artery through Alba is the Via Emanuele, which is characterized by the historic medieval center with its beautiful Renaissance and Art Nouveau buildings and towers. The truffle tubers hide in the ground, depending on the variety (white truffles) sometimes deeper, and were previously found with the help of truffle pigs, which often like to eat the truffles themselves and caused quite a bit of damage to the roots when digging up the tubers. Today, they are found and dug up with the help of trained truffle dogs.

Day 5 | The Royal City of Turin

In Turin, you will find a fascinating mix of Baroque architecture and royal history. The former first capital of Italy impresses with its UNESCO-protected old town, magnificent palaces, and historic squares. During the city tour, you will see, among other things, the Piazza San Carlo with its twin churches, the famous Egyptian Museum, and the Royal Palace (exterior visit). In the cathedral, there is the Shroud Chapel, which houses the valuable linen shroud of Jesus. To conclude, you will enjoy the traditional Bicerin in a historic café – a delicious specialty made of coffee, chocolate, and cream.

Day 6 | Return Journey

After breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye, and you will begin your return journey.
