Christmas Magic on the Danube

1st Day | Arrival Danube – Upper Austria

Departure in the morning and arrival at the Hotel Donauschlinge, located directly at the natural spectacle of the Schlögener Schlinge. Check-in, welcome, and dinner.

2. Day | Mühlviertel – Horse-drawn carriage ride

After a hearty breakfast, you will start your excursion with a guide to the hilly Mühlviertel – discover beautiful places and spots. In the morning, you will explore Freistadt on a city walk. In the afternoon, look forward to a romantic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the winter landscape, including a hot drink and sweets in the coachman's parlor. Return to the hotel, with time left to relax or visit the wellness area before dinner is served.

3. Day | Linz – Christmas Eve

After breakfast, you will travel to Linz, the capital of Upper Austria, and take a city tour. Let yourself be inspired by the Christmas atmosphere of the city center. Afterward, return to the hotel and get in the mood for the Christmas celebration with a cozy gathering with punch and cookies in the festively decorated courtyard. In the evening, a contemplative Christmas celebration with traditional songs, poems, readings, a small Christmas gift, and a 6-course gala menu awaits you.

4. Day | Schärding – Stift Engelszell

After breakfast, you will travel to the baroque pearl Schärding on the Inn. There, the tour guide will welcome you for a one-hour tour of the picturesque town. You will have some free time before continuing to Engelhartszell to Stift Engelszell. The abbey church with its 76 m high tower is one of the stylistically purest Rococo churches in Austria. The visit to Austria's only Trappist monastery with a guided tour and liqueur tasting is on the agenda. You will then drive along the Danube back to the hotel. As darkness falls, a walk along the Danube promenade with torches awaits you. Afterward, dinner and musical entertainment.

5. Day | Departure

After breakfast, it is already time to say goodbye. With beautiful Christmas experiences in your luggage, you will begin your journey home.
