Magical Lake Maggiore

The eleven islands of Lake Maggiore are among the many beauties of the lake – the most fascinating are undoubtedly the Borromean Islands. Enchanting landscapes and a rich historical artistic legacy make the lake a truly magical place.

Day 1 | Arrival

Departure in the morning and drive to Lake Maggiore. You will be warmly welcomed at a 4-star hotel of the Zacchera Hotels Group in Baveno or Stresa. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2 | Stresa and the Borromean Islands

In the morning, you will explore Stresa on the western shore of the lake. Discover beautiful parks with subtropical vegetation and the romantic old town. The meeting point is the promenade with its vibrant life. Afterwards, you will take a boat tour to the Borromean Islands: Isola Bella, Isola di Pescatori, and Isola Madre, each with its own character. They are a gem of nature and beauty. In the Middle Ages, the Borromean Islands served as a fortification and religious center. Back in Stresa, our coach will be waiting for you. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3 | Centovalli Railway – Locarno

After a good breakfast, you will take the bus to Domodossola, where you will board the panoramic train of the spectacular narrow-gauge railway. The small Centovalli train will take you to the picturesque area between Italy and Switzerland, through the Vigezzo Valley, also known as the “Valley of Painters,” with its beautiful natural landscapes. On this romantic excursion, you will experience approximately 348 curves, 83 bridges, and 31 tunnels. Upon arrival in Locarno, you will have free time – stroll through the picturesque streets to the lakeside promenade with its inviting cafés. In the late afternoon, you will return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 | Milan

Your excursion today takes you to the fashion capital, Milan. During a city tour through the historic city center, you will also be impressed by this imposing metropolis. Although the capital of Lombardy is a modern city and one of the most important economic centers in the world, it is rich in great artistic treasures that document the historical significance of the city. The impressive Gothic cathedral is adorned with thousands of marble statues and spires. Of course, there will also be time for shopping in the impressive Galleria Vittorio Emanuele or to visit one of the lovely cafés. You will return to your hotel for dinner.

Day 5 | Return Journey

Dreamy days come to an end. With many beautiful impressions in your travel luggage, you will begin your journey home.
