Gulf of Naples and Rome

The paradisiacal landscape around the Gulf of Naples has always attracted the Roman nobility like a magnet. Let yourself be enchanted by the much-sung Capri, the excavations of Pompeii, and the so-called "most beautiful coast in the world," the Amalfitana. Rome, the city of popes, emperors, and gladiators, awaits you at the end of this journey. Immerse yourself in Roman antiquity and marvel at grand churches and heavenly artworks. Experience the famous "Dolce Vita" in the "living room" of the Romans, Piazza Navona, and don't forget to toss a coin into the famous Trevi Fountain ...

Day 1 | Arrival in the Lake Como/Milan Area

(approx. 687 km)

Departure in the morning to Italy. In the late afternoon, you will be warmly welcomed at your hotel in the Lake Como/Milan area and treated to a nice dinner.

Day 2 | Lake Como – Rome (approx. 615 km)

After breakfast, you continue to Rome and start a sightseeing tour through the fascinating city. Check-in and dinner at the 4-star Ele Green Park Hotel Pamphili (local category). You can spend the rest of the evening as you wish.

Day 3 | Naples – Castellammare di Stabia

(approx. 255 km)

Early in the morning, you leave Rome heading towards Naples. Upon arrival in the capital of Campania, you will gather your first impressions: a huge royal square, an impressive triumphal arch at Castel Nuovo, and chic shops in the Galleria Umberto. Of course, there will also be time for an individual lunch break: Neapolitan pizza at every corner or enjoying an ice cream in the park of Villa Communale among Neapolitan mothers and their children? In the afternoon, you will reach Castellammare di Stabia, where you will be warmly welcomed at the 4-star Hotel Stabia (local category). You will end the day with dinner.

Day 4 | Island of Ischia (approx. 60 km)

With a good breakfast, you prepare for another beautiful day, this time on Ischia. You will take a boat to the island. From afar, you will be greeted by the mighty Aragonese Castle, Ischia's landmark. Did you know that you are in a former volcanic crater? The entire island is of volcanic origin – ideal conditions for a thriving thermal industry. On a guided island tour, you will discover paradise-like thermal gardens – the “Poseidon Gardens” and the “Thermal Baths of Aphrodite and Apollo” (entrance not included). You might want to stay here forever... For dinner, you will return to your hotel.

Day 5 | Island of Capri (weather permitting)

After a good breakfast, you will experience the “Myth of Capri.” You will take a speedboat from Castellammare di Stabia, heading to the home of the fishermen of Capri. So much has been sold under the magical name of this island – a Ford, an ice cream, a juice pouch?! Today, you will experience the original. You will see Capri's landmark, the Faraglioni, three mighty rock needles rising from the sea, the historic old town of Anacapri, and the Gardens of Augustus with a breathtaking view of the dizzying serpentine road of Via Krupp, which leads down to the southern coast. Unfortunately, a visit to the world-famous “Blue Grotto” (where the color blue takes on a whole new dimension) is only possible in calm seas (can be booked individually on-site). All dreams come to an end, and so does this one, as you return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 | Pompeii – Sorrento (approx. 65 km)

After breakfast, a piece of history is on the agenda: you will visit Pompeii – what a city! Horse-drawn carriages rattle through the ruts of the streets. Baths, theaters, fragrant wine taverns, and steaming food stalls – Dolce Vita among lemon trees under the sun of Southern Italy. A wonderful city – extinguished by a devastating eruption of the mighty Vesuvius towering above it, buried under rubble and ash. Countless well-preserved archaeological finds clearly demonstrate the terrible disaster that surprised the people – body casts of the fleeing, destroyed streets, and houses. Thoughtfully, you will stop for lunch at a farmhouse, where you will be treated to delicious local specialties. The afternoon belongs to Sorrento – a leisurely stroll through the narrow streets of the old town with its colorful shops, a cappuccino at the bar, a limoncello standing up, and a view from the terrace of Villa Comunale that you will never forget. For dinner, you will return to your hotel.

Day 7 | Amalfi Coast (approx. 90 km)

Breakfast at the hotel. Look forward to an excursion that will likely surpass the previous ones in scenic beauty. The hinterland of Sorrento is already stunning with its many lemon trees, but once you reach the picturesque coastal road, the Amalfitana, you will be overwhelmed. The panoramic drive takes you along the coast over the hills above Positano. Enjoy a spectacular view of the village and the sea. Continue to Amalfi. Here, we invite you to a limoncello tasting. During a boat trip from Amalfi to Salerno, you will get to know the beautiful coastline from the sea (weather permitting). With a wealth of overwhelming impressions, you will return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8 | Rome (approx. 250 km)

In the morning, you will leave the Gulf of Naples and head to Rome. For centuries, the city on the Tiber has been the center of power, wealth, and culture. The Roman Empire and the rule of the Popes have shaped the artistic heritage and the image of the city. During an interesting guided tour, you will get to know Rome's countless sights, such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and of course, Piazza Navona with its impressive Fountain of the Four Rivers a little better. After that, you will check in at your hotel. After dinner, Rome is “yours.” Perhaps a stroll through the romantic streets of Trastevere in the evening?

Day 9 | Rome – Lake Como/Milan Area

(approx. 610 km)

After breakfast, it’s “Arrivederci Bella Roma” as you continue your journey to the last overnight stay in the Lake Como/Milan area.

Day 10 | Return Journey (approx. 682 km)

Enjoy one last Italian breakfast before you begin your journey home.
